Start here

1. Install and configure the tools.
2. Choose a release workflow.
3. Follow the guide for extensions, styles, language packs, with optional remote sources.
4. Review GitHub publication and recovery before publishing.

Testing and documentation

• Local test boards: requirements, setup, reset behavior and shared options.
• Smoke and feature checks: runtime coverage, dependencies and supported extensions.
• PHPUnit and PHP syntax: branch selection, caches and Docker linting.
• Screenshots: supported projects, fixtures and output.
• Vendor rename upgrades: migration and configuration preservation.
• Template accessibility: icon labels and scanner limits.
• Forum update drafts: BBCode and dated screenshot galleries.
• Pull request checks: every option and exit status.
• Troubleshooting and maintainer checks.

Release guides use the shared three-script interface, with local HEAD by default and optional remote sources and forced replacement. They describe 779c648, merged on 10/28/2026. Other tool guides retain their existing scope. Consult each command's --help after updating the tools. Examples use placeholder project paths; replace them with your own checkouts. Commands that publish are identified explicitly.
