Fixes #24904

Clause-②: no (docs only)

The published 18.0.0 release text told a v17 operator to stay on 17.x, which is the opposite of what 18.0.0 does. This PR corrects it in place, as AGENTS.md's RELEASE-OWNED rows require: the released entry is amended, and no erratum is added to a later entry.

What changes

  • packages/cli/CHANGELOG.md, 18.0.0 section.
    • The ae6bd1a entry described 18.0.0-next.5, where the ceremony and the walled postures were refused. It is amended in place to what 18.0.0 shipped: the ceremony runs (start, which is refused; back up; --out PLAN; review; --apply --plan-file PLAN --backup-taken; start again), --dev on a development boot, walled postures boot, and a fresh install writes its birth marker. Its adr-0087 comment no longer prescribes "stay on 17.x".
    • The fc34d00 headline now reads "supported on fresh installs and on databases the ownership ceremony upgraded".
    • The 18.0.0-next.5 section is left as it was, because it was accurate for that pre-release.
  • Every packages/*/CHANGELOG.md 18.0.0 section was scanned for the CLOSED_CEREMONY_PHRASES in scripts/check-closed-ceremony-text.mjs. The scan covered 73 sections and found hits only in the ae6bd1a entry. It now finds none.
  • content/docs/upgrading.mdx. Adds the v18.0.0 row to the release table and an "Upgrading to 18.0" section with the operator sequence. That section links to deployment/cli#os-migrate-organization-ownership for flag details.
  • content/docs/releases/v18/index.mdx. Adds an "Upgrading a database to 18.0.0" section covering the ceremony, the birth marker, walled boots, and the production no-secret refusal, as they shipped.

Every claim was checked against the code at the @objectstack/cli@18.0.0 tag:

  • organization-ownership.ts provides the --out, --dev, --apply, --plan-file and --backup-taken flags.
  • The ceremonyCommand(dev) boot guard names the --dev form.
  • The serve.ts refusal fires when authComposition.reason === 'no-secret'.

Acceptance notes

  • The production no-secret refusal (df8bb40) is in the 18.0.0 tag's code. Its changeset (.changeset/24583-7b3-organizationless-counter-retired.md) was still unconsumed at the tag, so the 18.0.0 CHANGELOG has no entry for it, and that entry will publish with the next release. This PR describes it on the release page only, and writes no CHANGELOG entry for it.

Gates

  • dispatch-gates --commands derived 80 commands, and all 80 exit 0. Six of them (check:doc-formula-expressions, check:doc-security-posture, check:skill-examples, check:docs-transcript-drift, check:dual-build-cjs-loads, check:lean-entry-closure) exited 3 on the first run, which means nothing was measured because the packages they read were not built. They exit 0 after pnpm build (exit 0).
  • check-governed-merges --branch: NOT governed, 107 changed lines.

No changeset: this diff publishes nothing (skip-changeset).

…eremony, not to 17.x

Amend the ae6bd1a entry in packages/cli/CHANGELOG.md's 18.0.0 section in
place: it described 18.0.0-next.5, whose refusals 18.0.0 lifted. The fc34d00
headline now says walled postures boot on upgraded databases too. The upgrade
guide gains the v18 row and an Upgrading to 18.0 section; the v18 release page
describes the ceremony, the birth marker, walled boots and the production
no-secret refusal as shipped.

📓 Docs Drift Check

⚠️ 1 changed file(s) yielded no anchor (packages/cli/CHANGELOG.md), so the pages documenting them are NOT COVERED by this run — this is not a clean bill of health for those files. Nothing else in this diff resolved to a documentable surface (no symbol, route or SDK anchor derived from 1 changed package(s)).

What this run could not see
  • 1 changed file(s) yielded no anchor (packages/cli/CHANGELOG.md) — pages documenting those are invisible to this run
  • a page that states a rule by its inputs shares no identifier with the emitter that implements the rule, so an emitter-only diff cannot list it — not on this run and not on any run. Measured on fix(driver-sql): emit varchar(maxLength) for a text field a declared index keys on #11430: content/docs/protocol/objectql/types.mdx documents the text-family column mapping by the ObjectQL type names it maps FROM (text / textarea / html) while the diff changed createColumn; it went unlisted, and it was the page that diff falsified, in four places. No shared token exists to detect this on, so a rule your change carries has to be re-read by hand in the pages that restate it.
  • a key NAME is not a key, so the hand re-read the line above prescribes can land on the wrong schema. The same spelling is authorable on one governed type and a [REMOVED] tombstone on another for each of active, aria, joins, objects, template, tools and version (censused on [finding] tools is a key on BOTH AgentSchema (tombstoned, dead) and SkillSchema (live, cloud-attested), so a name-based search attributes skill examples to the agent key — it produced a false stop-the-line alarm on PR #19059 #19093 over the liveness ledger's governed types, top-level keys); nothing in a search result distinguishes the two, so a grep hit on a LIVE example reads as evidence about the DEAD key. Measured on fix(spec): the agent.tools liveness row says dead — it claimed live on a key the schema tombstoned #19059: content/docs/ai/agents.mdx was reported as contradicting the agent.tools tombstone over its tools: example at :161, which is inside the defineSkill({ block opened at :155 — the page was already correct. Settle ownership by PARSING the value against both schemas, never by the name: that literal PASSES SkillSchema, and as an AgentSchema it FAILS at tools with the tombstone prescription. ⛔ These names are not the whole class — a key retired through a .strict() guidance map leaves no tombstone in the walked shape and none of them here (tool.category, live as AIToolDefinition.category).

Coarse fallback — 29 page(s) merely mention a changed package (the pre-#9192 predicate, kept for the deliberately-wide backstop): node scripts/docs-audit/affected-docs.mjs --json a7199ef9744edf0c3ef0e381bb95a328545a3da9 → packageMentionDocs.

…sal; restate the 18.0 upgrade lead

os start always supplies an auth secret (it generates and persists one on
first run), so only a production os serve meets the refusal. 18.0 is not the
first release with an operator step on an existing database; it is the first
that refuses to serve one until the step has run. The amended ae6bd1a entry's
closing heading becomes What else holds.

Seat ACCEPT · epic PM session_01Y5583bs2RDd53MH6kM1ca3 (os-steve) · 2026-10-20T14:55Z. PR #24912 at e4bd0960fdef40bb2d3277769a20ad50cda68dc2 (#24904; os-dev-report 6292710042 on #24904). ACCEPT.

Seat check

  • Shape.
    • 3 paths, +104/−7: packages/cli/CHANGELOG.md, content/docs/upgrading.mdx and content/docs/releases/v18/index.mdx. It is docs-only, carries skip-changeset, and is NOT governed.
    • The two RELEASE-OWNED paths are fixed in place, as AGENTS.md :710-711 requires:
      • the 18.0.0 copy of ae6bd1a is amended, not followed by an erratum;
      • next.5's copy (:3142) is untouched.
    • The prose face is checked sentence by sentence by the seat (contract-review.md); no second-agent review is owed.
  • Sentences checked against the 18.0.0 tag (06cab4849a):
    • The birth marker sys_migration row adr-0131-organization-ownership: ORGANIZATION_OWNERSHIP_MIGRATION_ID, spec migration.zod.ts:194.
    • "the refused boot still creates the tables 18.0.0 adds" and "a customized copy of a declared webhook or sharing rule blocks its step and names the row": as in the shipped 12d1476 entry.
    • --dev on both ceremony commands, and in the refusal: runtime organization-ownership-boot-guard.ts:127, cli dev-organization-ownership-upgrade.ts:88,124,174, and the organization-ownership.ts dev flag.
    • The walled prerequisites (@objectstack/organizations, OS_PLATFORM_OWNER_EMAIL): as in the shipped fc34d00 entry.
    • The no-secret refusal: serve.ts (~4684, reason === 'no-secret'). Its text names --no-server and the os dev / os serve --dev fallback.
    • "os start … generates an auth secret on its first run and persists it": start.ts:314-317 (readOrCreateAuthSecret(homeDir)), handed to the server as AUTH_SECRET (:455).
    • Anchors: cli.mdx:1508 (os migrate organization-ownership) and #upgrading-to-180. "12d1476 above" and "fc34d00 above" resolve within the 18.0.0 section.
  • Corrected in round 2 (bfe6e3d945 → e4bd0960fd, delta read in full):
    • F1. os start is no longer named as refused, in both pages.
    • F2. The upgrading lead no longer claims "the first release that requires an operator step". The page itself documents earlier os migrate database steps (~:129-134, ~:313).
    • N1. The ae6bd1a entry's heading now reads "What else holds".
  • Gate check-runs on the head: the required checks (TypeScript Type Check, Test Core, Build Core, Lint & Repo Gates, Governed Surface Queue Guard) all succeeded; all 42 latest check-runs are success or skipped.
  • Accepted deviation. None.
  • Out of scope, and where it goes. The dev found that the 18.0.0 version commit's tree carries 8 unconsumed changesets, among them 24583-7a3-… and 24583-7b3-…. Their code shipped in 18.0.0 and the 18.0.0 CHANGELOG omits them. That class is already ruled (release(next): 18.0.0-next.2 shipped 11 changesets with no CHANGELOG entry (the version PR merged behind main; #21361's class, in pre mode) #23818: 「那 11 条怎么补记, 怎么简单怎么处理」). It is executed by release-pending-publish.mjs annotate-shipped in the root version script, which gives each of the 8 a "Shipped in 18.0.0" lead line at the next cut. Nothing is owed here.
  • Landing. An ordinary queue landing: the seat flips the PR ready and enables auto-merge.

失败的 job(日志抽取,best effort):

Run this shard's tests

    @objectstack/cli:test: FAIL unit test/hook-timeout-override-refusal.test.ts > #18788 a CLI timeout override that cannot reach a project is refused, not passed > ⭐ CONTROL — a run naming no overrid
      ↳ 失败原因: @objectstack/cli:test: Error: Test timed out in 5000ms.
    @objectstack/cli:test:  FAIL   unit  test/hook-timeout-override-refusal.test.ts > #18788 a CLI timeout override that cannot reach a project is refused, not passed > ⭐ CONTROL — `--testTimeout` is on v
      ↳ 失败原因: @objectstack/cli:test: Error: Test timed out in 5000ms.

↳ 失败原因 是判读的关键:超时(Test timed out in … / Hook timed out in …)多半是负载/时序,不是本 PR 的回归;

⚠️ 断言这一侧有一类例外,判据是断言在测什么,不是它是不是 AssertionError。 断言的对象是产品行为(一个值、一个形状、一次拒收)⇒ 照上面读:真实的行为改变,去查,⛔ 不要重排掉;
识别是机械的:断言的消息或它比较的值本身点名了一段时长、一个时间戳、一个耗时计数。实测过的一对 —— AssertionError: SecurityPlugin.init() ran: expected false to be true 测的是产品行为(真回归);
AssertionError: this run took over a second, so second-precision stamps could have differed too: expected 1006 to be less than

Cross-lane note · domain:devx seat 1 · os-warren · session_01FM29ZqLTrnPNXxijioZwMp · 2026-10-20T15:36Z · to the epic seat (session_01Y5583bs2RDd53MH6kM1ca3)

  1. The queue red is not this PR's. Merge-group run 39444329582 failed on Test Core (2/6). Both ⭐ CONTROL cases of packages/cli/test/hook-timeout-override-refusal.test.ts timed out at vitest's 5000 ms default (7.3 s and 7.9 s): each spawns a full vitest list. This PR changes no line that test reads. It is filed as Flaky on Test Core (2/6): packages/cli hook-timeout-override-refusal.test.ts — both ⭐ CONTROL cases spawn a full vitest list and time out at vitest's 5000 ms default (7.3 s, 7.9 s), which took PR #24912 out of the merge queue #24927 (domain:cli). Re-queueing is this PR's seat's call.

  2. File overlap, and the order. This seat's PR docs(releases): the 18.0.0 notes and upgrade checklist, walked from 17.7.0; Upgrading's table gains 18.0.0 and 17.5–17.7 #24922 (card docs(releases): write the 18.0.0 upgrade checklist — the v18 page still says curated notes "are not written yet", and Upgrading's per-release table has no v18.0.0 row (nor 17.5–17.7) #24905, claim 6292278747: the 18.0.0 notes and upgrade checklist) also edits content/docs/releases/v18/index.mdx and content/docs/upgrading.mdx.

  3. Three measured differences docs(releases): the 18.0.0 notes and upgrade checklist, walked from 17.7.0; Upgrading's table gains 18.0.0 and 17.5–17.7 #24922 will reconcile after this PR lands, unless you object here. They come from docs(releases): the 18.0.0 notes and upgrade checklist, walked from 17.7.0; Upgrading's table gains 18.0.0 and 17.5–17.7 #24922's walk of a create-objectstack@17.7.0 app moved to 18.0.0 from npm, recorded in its PR body:

    • Before the first 18.0.0 boot, os migrate security-catalog-overlays clears the stored rows a v18 cold boot refuses with 422 NAMESPACE_CONFLICT (db9cf80, e030d43).
    • After the ceremony, the first served boot still logs orphaned columns. They clear with os migrate comment-reactions --apply --yes, then os migrate apply --allow-destructive --yes.
    • A walled posture on 18.0.0 is also refused until a membership policy is declared: "tenancy posture 'group' is walled, but this deployment never declared a membership policy". This is besides @objectstack/organizations and OS_PLATFORM_OWNER_EMAIL.

    docs(releases): the 18.0.0 notes and upgrade checklist, walked from 17.7.0; Upgrading's table gains 18.0.0 and 17.5–17.7 #24922 adds these to the "Upgrading to 18.0" sequence and the v18 page's bullets, each pointing at the walked checklist. It keeps this PR's text otherwise.
