Why

Neuron already replaces Synapse on my own desk. The public docs should start there: what a Razer owner can do, what is verified, and how to try it. The deeper protocol details are still available when someone wants them.

The new opening describes reverse-engineering how Synapse talks to Razer hardware, not the whole Synapse application, and makes no REA claims.

What changed

  • Lead with your razer hardware. your rules., more than a replacement., and a control layer built to grow beyond Razer.
  • Put Windows downloads, verified hardware and useful features ahead of the protocol vocabulary.
  • Add a human-first FAQ and manual install, setup, troubleshooting and hardware-report routes. Agent skills remain optional.
  • Add a dedicated device-compatibility report template and simplify the Compatibility Lab handoff.
  • Correct overbroad language about arm gates and read-back verification while keeping existing security and evidence details.

Verification / limits

  • Applied the approved five editorial chunks to the actual pinned repository source, resolving two original README blank-line differences.
  • Compared the branch against 57525f4: one commit, 14 documentation/YAML files; no runtime code changed.
  • Checked README and FAQ contents on the branch; patch, issue-label, link and code-fence reviews were done as part of the editorial pass.
  • Not a runtime or broad device-compatibility test. Windows is the published beta; Linux support is under development and not yet hardware-verified.

Deliberately left alone

Historical release notes, implementation, hardware command data, licensing terms and application UI. GitHub's short repository description and the separate woflo.dev homepage also remain unchanged.

Suggested repo description for a later metadata update:

Your Razer hardware. Your rules. A Rust alternative to Synapse with device controls, reactive lighting, button remapping, macros and gestures. Windows beta.

Review the wording before merging; main has not been changed.

Reframe the README around Synapse replacement, expressive control, and an extensible hardware layer. Add a human-first FAQ and manual compatibility paths while keeping agent skills optional. Align safety, device-evidence, onboarding, and issue-report wording. Documentation-only; no application behavior changed.
