What

  • README 285 → 112 lines: what Lucid is, why it exists, the install table, a quick start, a table of docs, contributing and licence. Nothing is lost: the rest moves to
    • docs/install.md (steps per system, checksums, troubleshooting),
    • docs/features.md (blocks, modes, builders, history, export and the PDF look),
    • docs/formats.md (the five formats, with the PDF of a sample of each),
    • docs/accessibility.md (new: why Lucid exists, what works by voice and with one hand, what does not yet),
    • the commands table joins CONTRIBUTING.md.
  • Message: "Voice to structured notes and diagrams", hands-free or one-handed, in the README, the site (title, headline, description, link-preview text, and a short "Why it exists" section) and the repository description.
  • Repository topics were reworked (20): voice-notes, speech-to-text, dictation, accessibility, assistive-technology, hands-free, diagrams, note-taking, structured-notes, system-design, voice-typing, local-first, llm, lm-studio, mcp, model-context-protocol, electron, latex, pdf, markdown.

Checked

Every relative link in the new files resolves; the site test passes; each commit passes typecheck, lint, format and unit tests.

The README was 285 lines doing five jobs. It is now what Lucid is, why it exists (speech becomes structure; made so a person can
take notes by voice or with one hand), the install table, a quick start and links. The rest moves to docs/install.md (steps per
system, checksums, troubleshooting), docs/features.md, docs/formats.md (with the PDF of a sample of each format) and
docs/accessibility.md (why Lucid exists, what works by voice and with one hand, what it does not do yet). The commands table
joins CONTRIBUTING.md.

… why it exists

The title, the headline, the description and the preview text lead with speech becoming structure, hands-free or one-handed, and
a short section after the idea says why Lucid exists and what can be spoken. The privacy heading no longer says "your Mac".
