Important

Maintenance Notice: This fork is maintained by Thought Machine specifically for addressing security vulnerabilities. It is not intended for feature development or general-purpose use. We do not accept external Pull Requests.

This version is used with pgx v4. In pgx v5 it is part of the https://github.com/jackc/pgx repository. This v4 version will reach end-of-life on July 1, 2025. Only security bug fixes will be made to this version.

pgproto3

Package pgproto3 is a encoder and decoder of the PostgreSQL wire protocol version 3.

pgproto3 can be used as a foundation for PostgreSQL drivers, proxies, mock servers, load balancers and more.

See example/pgfortune for a playful example of a fake PostgreSQL server.
