The default currency is USD, I have added the currency code to the payment so it's possible to change the currency.
We are using Matukio (https://compojoom.com/joomla-extensions/matukio-events-management-made-easy) which uses Joomla Payments and all payments were sent to PayPal in USD regardless of our currency settings.
