@dselck I discovered the OOM/infinite loop issue is actually with

  "jest": {
    "setupFiles": [
      "jest-canvas-mock"
    ]
  },

Unfortunately, when you take this out, you get a lot of TypeError: parse color failed on new Plot(...), which I believe means some canvas functions aren't getting shim'd.
