Summary

  • Install: the Homebrew cask is macOS-only (.goreleaser.yaml); the curl installer covers macOS and Linux
  • Fix descriptions that didn't match the code: update (also reinstalls the daemon; detects brew), gc, cc statusline (reads stdin, prints text), encryption (on by default via shelltime auth, daemon-only, fails closed), Codex quota sync (every 10 min only while Codex runs)
  • Add missing flags to the command tables (doctor --yes, q --show-context, rg filters/grep alias, --token, sync --dry-run, --format json, schema -o, alias import --full, dotfiles --apps/pull --dry-run) and the 12 supported dotfile apps
  • Document SSH tracking, daemon launchd/systemd service, socket and gRPC port
  • New "Claude Code and Codex Telemetry" section: what cc install/codex install write, what gets sent (prompts, tool details, responses), and the keys that turn each off
  • Server-side PR detection note; development notes for Go 1.27.1, mockery, and the perf benchmark

Test plan

  • Each command, flag and default checked against commands/, daemon/, model/ and .goreleaser.yaml

Mark Homebrew as macOS-only, describe what update, gc, cc statusline
and encryption actually do, and fix the Codex quota sync schedule. Add
the missing command flags, supported dotfile apps, SSH tracking, daemon
service and socket details, and a section on what Claude Code and Codex
telemetry sends and how to turn parts of it off.
