I would really love to see a single place that documents boot ROMs across vendors work rather than having to dig into vendor specific tooling and documentation. Not only does it provide documentation for boot loader developers, but also users. Ideally it could help inform people which chip to purchase, if the ROM has more and better functionality. This particular Rockchip information isn't specific to a single tool. In fact it doesn't need to be tied to a tool at all. For example, it would be a good thing to link to from board documentation for users to explain what a button or header does. I've already put this in my boot chain distribution documentation so I'm not too concerned about where it ends up here. I thought this was a place to document boot ROMs, but of course it doesn't need to be. |
