fix: Prevent schema migration from deleting internal indexes created at startup - #10838
At startup, performInitialization creates internal indexes and updateSchemaWithIndexes() copies them into _SCHEMA. Schema migration then deletes any index that is missing from the local schema and not listed in isProtectedIndex.
Indexes added after the original protected set are removed on boot: _User_email_verify_token, _User_perishable_token, _User_auth_data_<provider>_id, and _Idempotencyttl. Two instances booting together both drop the same index. The second drop fails with Mongo code 27 (IndexNotFound). Retries read the cached schema, which still contains the index, and production exits after 3 attempts.
Approach
Protect those internal indexes in isProtectedIndex. Auth-provider indexes are matched with /^_auth_data_.+_id$/. Index names are unchanged, and keepUnknownIndexes stays false.
Treat a Mongo dropIndex that returns code 27 as success, so a drop already performed by another instance does not fail the migration.
Use DROP INDEX IF EXISTS on Postgres so dropping an index that is already gone does not raise 42704.
Tasks
Add tests
Add changes to documentation (guides, repository pages, code comments)
Schema migrations now preserve built-in user authentication and email verification indexes, as well as idempotency indexes, while still removing custom indexes that are no longer defined.
Repeated or concurrent index cleanup now succeeds when an index has already been removed, reducing migration failures across supported database adapters. Other index-removal errors continue to be reported.
I will reformat the title to use the proper commit message syntax.

🚀 Thanks for opening this pull request! We appreciate your effort in improving the project. Please let us know once your pull request is ready for review.
Tip
Keep pull requests small. Large PRs will be rejected. Break complex features into smaller, incremental PRs.
Use Test Driven Development. Write failing tests before implementing functionality. Ensure tests pass.
Group code into logical blocks. Add a short comment before each block to explain its purpose.
We offer conceptual guidance. Coding is up to you. PRs must be merge-ready for human review.
Our review focuses on concept, not quality. PRs with code issues will be rejected. Use an AI agent.
Human review time is precious. Avoid review ping-pong. Inspect and test your AI-generated code.
Note
Please respond to review comments from AI agents just like you would to comments from a human reviewer. Let the reviewer resolve their own comments, unless they have reviewed and accepted your commit, or agreed with your explanation for why the feedback was incorrect.
Caution
Pull requests must be written using an AI agent with human supervision. Pull requests written entirely by a human will likely be rejected, because of lower code quality, higher review effort and the higher risk of introducing bugs. Please note that AI review comments on this pull request alone do not satisfy this requirement. Our CI and AI review are safeguards, not development tools. If many issues are flagged, rethink your development approach. Invest more effort in planning and design rather than using review cycles to fix low-quality code.

Walkthrough
The changes protect additional internal _User and _Idempotency indexes from schema migration deletion. MongoDB and PostgreSQL storage adapters now handle drops when an index is already absent.
Changes: Internal index migration and deletion
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Protect internal indexes during migration src/SchemaMigrations/DefinedSchemas.js, spec/DefinedSchemas.spec.js
isProtectedIndex recognizes additional _User indexes, including provider-specific auth indexes, and _Idempotency.ttl. Migration tests verify that protected indexes remain while custom indexes are removed.
Handle repeated index drops src/Adapters/Storage/Mongo/MongoStorageAdapter.js, src/Adapters/Storage/Postgres/PostgresStorageAdapter.js, spec/MongoStorageAdapter.spec.js, spec/PostgresStorageAdapter.spec.js
MongoDB ignores index-not-found error code 27. PostgreSQL uses DROP INDEX IF EXISTS. Tests cover repeated deletion and missing-index behavior.
The protected startup indexes remain in place during migration, and the PostgreSQL test workflow skips the MongoDB-specific tests. No actionable merge-blocking risk remains.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title begins with the required prefix "fix:" and the first letter after the prefix is capitalized ("Prevent"). It clearly summarizes the main change: protecting internal indexes from being deleted by schema migration. The title meets the stated requirement and matches the changeset.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the repository template. It includes the security and license header, an Issue section that links #10837, an Approach section that explains the protected indexes, the Mongo code 27 handling, and the Postgres DROP INDEX IF EXISTS change, and a Tasks checklist. The test task is checked. The unchecked documentation, security check, and SDK error-code items are not applicable or remain open for the author to decide. The description is mostly complete.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #10837 is open and directly linked. The PR protects _User indexes _email_verify_token, _perishable_token, and names matching /^_auth_data_.+_id$/. It protects _Idempotency.ttl. MongoStorageAdapter.dropIndex treats MongoDB code 27 as success and preserves other errors. PostgresStorageAdapter.dropIndexes uses DROP INDEX IF EXISTS. The tests cover protected indexes, concurrent MongoDB drops, non-code-27 errors, and repeated PostgreSQL drops. The change keeps index names and keepUnknownIndexes behavior unchanged.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
All changed source files implement issue #10837. DefinedSchemas.js protects the required internal indexes. The MongoDB and PostgreSQL adapter changes make repeated drops idempotent. The added specification tests verify these behaviors. No unrelated feature, refactoring, dependency, or documentation changes appear in the reviewed change summary.
Full details: Docstring Coverage
Explanation
No eligible functions found in the changed files. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 0 functions across 6 files.
Full details: Security Check
Explanation
No security vulnerability is introduced by the changed code. PostgreSQL continues to quote index names through the existing $1:name pg-promise helper. MongoDB suppresses only error code 27 (IndexNotFound). The changes preserve internal uniqueness and TTL indexes and do not alter authentication, authorization, input validation, or data exposure paths.
Full details: Engage In Review Feedback
Explanation
The prior unresolved review comment requested MongoDB-only guards for the two integration tests. Commit 88702b7 implements that feedback: both tests in spec/DefinedSchemas.spec.js use it_only_db('mongo'). The change is present in the reviewed diff, so the feedback was addressed by a commit. The current review also reports zero actionable findings.

spec/support/jasmine.json includes DefinedSchemas.spec.js for every database. Without a MongoDB-only guard, these tests can run with PARSE_SERVER_TEST_DB=postgres. The _Idempotency test calls adapter.database.collection(...), but PostgresStorageAdapter does not provide database. The _User test also expects MongoDB-specific index metadata. Run both tests only for MongoDB, or provide separate PostgreSQL setup and assertions.
