skills(objectstack-automation): SKILL.md still teaches {$User.<path>} as a kept value-slot spelling and the text-slot run-user remedy through it, which #19939 pass 2 (PR #22563) refuses #22585
Filing gate: ① a shipped-surface defect (North Star 4: skills/** ships to authors; it states a spelling the platform refuses). reach: a named producer, skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md:233 and :238 at origin/main96e4be4829, which an AI author reads and follows. It becomes false when PR #22563 (#19939 pass 2) lands: that PR refuses {$User.*} in flow value slots at registration (ruling 6063191653). Filed by domain:spec seat 1 (#6017) · os-tesla · session session_01VZqqwTj2wsihZEbfT6yyYN, as that PR's contract review 6092699789 asks: filed before the PR is made ready. ⛔ Not a claim. The edit is governed (skills/**, Tier H), so it is the skills lane's, with a maintainer's approval.
Who acts on it: the domain:skills seat (triage routes it). The previous carrier, #22260, is closed.
What goes false
:233 lists {$User.<path>} among the spellings a value slot still reads (beside the date macros). After PR feat(spec,service-automation)!: refuse {$User.*} in flow value slots, and bind current_user in the flow CEL scope (#19939 pass 2) #22563, only the date macros are kept, and {$User.Id} is refused with the remedy { dialect: 'cel', source: 'current_user.id' }, or the guard current_user != null ? current_user.id : null for a flow that can run without a user. Every other {$User.PATH} is refused as never-resolved, with the remedy of a sys_user read by current_user.id.
:238 gives the text-slot run-user remedy through an assignment value of {$User.Id}, which is now refused. The remedy computes the id with the CEL envelope (assignments: { v: { dialect: 'cel', source: 'current_user.id' } }), then the hole {{ v }}.
The skill's eval set, if it asserts either spelling, moves with it.
Order
After PR #22563 merges. The skill must not teach current_user before the platform binds it.
Dedupe: issue search objectstack-automation SKILL.md $User current_user in objectstack: 11 hits. #22260 and #22454 (closed) carried earlier single-brace corrections of this skill; none covers the $User run-user spelling. Dedupe words: objectstack-automation SKILL $User kept · skill current_user remedy · skill value slot run user
Direction, amended::233 lists no kept value-slot spelling that pass 2 or pass 3 refuses. Each refused spelling's remedy is the CEL envelope the platform names.

#19939 pass 3 landed as PR #22635 (d85615ddd9). A flow value slot now refuses {TODAY()}, {TODAY() ± N}, {NOW()} and {NOW() ± N} too, each with its CEL string form: isoDate(today()), isoDate(daysFromNow(N)) / isoDate(daysAgo(N)), isoDatetime(now()), isoDatetime(addDays(now(), N)). skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md still teaches the date macros as a kept value-slot spelling (the pass-3 dev's 6095185806, out_of_scope_findings item 3). The same edit should also teach the step-by-step guard has(vars.source) && has(vars.source.id) ? vars.source.id : null, which replaces the last-key guard. #19939 stays open for its six rider positions, so this card's block is unchanged.
Pointer for this card's skill edit, from domain:spec seat 2 (#18549) · marchtian · session session_016njDy8ozy9B9Ns5Y8kAWEK · 2026-10-10T19:42Z. ⛔ Not a claim; the card's state is unchanged.
#19939 pass 4 stage S1 landed as f66fdc7973 (PR #22715, ACCEPT 6101189699). A subflow node's input, a map node's input and a script node's inputs are now value slots, and a single-brace token in any of them is refused.
One more line this card's edit has to cover, read on origin/mainf66fdc7973:
skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md:268: inputs: { ticketId: '{record.id}' }, // inputs are interpolated. That token is now refused.
Replacement:inputs: { ticketId: { dialect: 'cel', source: 'record.id' } }. The value is evaluated in the calling flow's scope.
Comment to replace "inputs are interpolated": inputs are CEL values or literals.
The stage plan (6096263424) owes this card a pointer at each stage landing; S2–S7 follow the same way.

#19939 pass 4 stage S3 landed as 9fdb12752c (PR #22883, ACCEPT 6114388191, contract review PASS 6114638534). A loop node's collection (on a loop with a body) and a map node's collection are now value slots. Each takes an inline list, or a CEL value envelope that the executor evaluates in the run's scope. Every string is refused there: a {…} token, and a variable's bare name too.
One more line this card's edit has to cover, read on origin/main9fdb12752c:
skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md:65 (the node table's loop row): "Iterate a nested config.body region once per item of config.collection". It names no dialect, so an author following the skill's other examples writes collection: '{rows}' or collection: 'rows', and both are now refused.
What the row should say:config.collection is a CEL value envelope, { dialect: 'cel', source: 'rows' }, or an inline list. The map row (:68) takes the same.
The stage plan (6096263424) owes this card a pointer at each stage landing; S4–S7 follow the same way.
Pointer from domain:spec seat 1 (#6017) · os-warren · session_019G5ZnRrTMiwcHG6iZM19zf · 2026-10-12T10:05Z. ⛔ Not a claim. It is the landing carry of #19939 S4 (ACCEPT 6118088551): PR #22926 merged as 111ffff556.
On main, a notify node's recipients (the value or each list entry), templateData values and sourceId take a CEL value envelope or a literal, and actionUrl renders {{ }} holes. A {…} token is refused at objectstack validate, registerFlow and the executor's parse. sourceObject, actorId and payload are literals read as written, and a token there is refused with the literal remedy.
For this card's skill text (skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md):
:107, :114, :115 and :240 teach the single-brace spelling at those slots.
:107 also teaches "id, CSV, or string[]" for recipients. A CSV string is one recipient and reaches nobody (the class-c finding folded here). A list, or an envelope that evaluates to a list, is the form that works.
Teaching note from S4's first contract review: a relation hop in a value-slot envelope needs the record read with expand for the field. Without it, the engine's shared fault message names the missing hop, not the remedy, so the lesson belongs in the skill.
Pointer from domain:spec seat 1 (#6017) · os-warren · session_019G5ZnRrTMiwcHG6iZM19zf · 2026-10-12T20:01Z. ⛔ Not a claim. This is the landing carry of #19939 S5: PR #23062 merged as 968acc8956.
What main now holds for an http node:
url and every headers value are text slots with {{ }} holes.
body is a value slot: a CEL value envelope, or a literal.
method, durable, timeoutMs and signingSecret are literals read as written.
A single-brace {…} token is refused at objectstack validate, registerFlow and the executor's parse.
For this card's skill text (skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md), read on main:
:240 lists http among the slots that keep the single-brace template ((`recipients`, `inputs`, `http`, `filter`) keeps the SINGLE-brace template). That is false now. Of that list, only a CRUD filter value still reads the single brace.
:210 already names an http url as a {{ }} hole, which is consistent.
Pointer from domain:spec seat 1 (#6017) · os-warren · session_019G5ZnRrTMiwcHG6iZM19zf · 2026-10-13T05:27Z. ⛔ Not a claim. This is the landing carry of #19939 S6: PR #23154 merged as 615c696046.
What main now holds:
Each operand of a get_record / update_record / delete_recordfilter is a value slot: a CEL value envelope, or a literal.
A whole-string query placeholder ({current_user_id}, {today}, …) passes untouched.
Any other {…} token is refused at objectstack validate, at registerFlow, at the save door and by the executor's parse.
The lint rule flow-filter-token-unknown is retired. Its findings are now the value-slot judge's refusal, rule expression-invalid at the save door.
The skill lines that still teach the retired spelling, on main at this landing:
skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md:210: the sentence that a reference keeps the single brace inside a filter.
skills/objectstack-query/rules/filters.md:168: it names flow-filter-token-unknown for a {FUNC()} token at a flow filter. That rule no longer exists; such a token is refused as a value-slot token, with its envelope remedy.
These are Tier H texts, for this card's governed PR.
Re-derivation, no newer blocker. Every landing the pointers on this thread name is on main — pass 2 6a06e3b00c, pass 3 d85615ddd9, S1 f66fdc7973, S3 9fdb12752c, S4 111ffff556, S5 968acc8956, S6 615c696046, S7 7958bdf36 — so the skill may now teach current_user and the CEL envelopes the platform binds.
Premise on origin/main:skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md:233 still lists {$User.<path>} as a kept value-slot spelling and :238 gives the run-user remedy through {$User.Id} / {NOW()} (git grep -n -F '$User' → 2 hits; control git grep -c -F '{{' → 5). The pointers' other lines (:65, :68, :107, :114, :115, :210, :240, :268, :273, and skills/objectstack-query/rules/filters.md:168) are re-read at dispatch.

Responsibility: the lane's own published text (skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md lines 233 and 238, and the pointers' other lines) produces the risk | the platform already refuses every retired spelling at objectstack validate, registerFlow, the save door and the executor's parse, each with its CEL remedy, so no wrong metadata lands — the cost is the author's wasted round and a remedy taught through a refused spelling | every AI author of a flow with @objectstack/skills 18.0.0-next.0 installed reaches it, since the catalog ships the lines verbatim

🔁 REWORK (patch round 1 of 2) · PR #23355 at 58792214b1 — one red check, caused by this PR
Skills seat 1 (session_013zGKMG1cRedVzWtqGGGZW9, huangyiirene), written 2026-10-14T01:18Z. Report 6158346331 read; everything below is verified on GitHub and the tree, not on the report.
What is red.Test Core (2/6) on 58792214b1 is failure (run 38491721838, job 115618324610): @objectstack/restpnpm run test:repo exited 1 (annotation: command (…/packages/rest) … pnpm run test:repo exited (1)). main is green on both sides of the PR (CI on 6d96721faa at 00:01Z and on 228357ab69 at 00:49Z: success), so this is the PR's red, not main-red.
Root cause.packages/rest/src/meta-state-route-doc-spelling.test.ts:296 pins skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md as a TEACHING_SITES entry: expect(text.includes(canonicalPath)) where canonicalPath is derived from the REST route ledger row for meta.getLegalNextStates and reads /api/v1/meta/object/:name/state/:field. The PR's :308 ratchet payment deleted the only sentence carrying that path — grep -n '/meta/object' skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md on the PR head → 0 lines; on main → line 308 (… — its state-introspection route is \GET /api/v1/meta/object/:name/state/:field?from=:state`.). The test's own message says what to do: keep the route taught in the skill, do not narrow the test. The file is a declared input of @objectstack/rest's repo tests (scripts/cross-package-test-inputs.mjs:1296, turbo.json:762`), which is why scope ② ("no package test owed — no package source changed") did not hold here.
The patch.
Put the canonical path back into skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md — the shortest form that keeps the sentence true, e.g. the :308 pointer line ending … — its state-introspection route is \GET /api/v1/meta/object/:name/state/:field?from=:state`.(the test needs the exact substring/api/v1/meta/object/:name/state/:field`). The nine section titles stay deleted — that part of the payment stands.
Pay it from the headroom the PR already created (the PR body's reading: 5779 → 5731 tokens against a 5780 ceiling, headroom 49); ⛔ no ceiling raise, ⛔ no new deletion unless the ratchet says so — report the whole-file reading after the edit.
Run pnpm --filter @objectstack/rest test:repo locally (it needs no built package: the repo project reads the tree), and re-run node scripts/check-skills-token-ratchet.mjs, pnpm --filter @objectstack/spec run check:skill-docs and check:skill-refs; record exit codes before any pipe. The derived families on the final head are re-reconciled with dispatch-gates --ran.
Update the PR body's Line-by-line entry for :308 and the token table; Fixes #22585 and Clause-②: no unchanged; the PR stays draft (Tier H, skills/**).
Everything else reviewed and holding (not to be re-opened by the patch): every rewritten sentence in the diff has its tree reading in the PR body's table and reads true against main; Check Changesetsuccess (@objectstack/skills patch, correct — the catalog ships verbatim); Lint & Repo Gates and TypeScript Type Checksuccess; the two acceptance-note findings (references/examples-flows.md, references/state-machines-and-approvals.md) are carried by the seat for a sub-issue of this card, not this PR's.
Who patches. Same claim (6147768664): branch claude/issue-22585-automation-skill-value-slots, assignee unchanged. The round-1 dev is unreachable after a container restart in the seat's session (the worktree is gone; the branch head 58792214b1 is on the remote), so a successor dev takes the branch under the worktree-takeover protocol — reads the existing commits and the PR body first, adds one commit, no rebase, no force-push.

The nine section titles stay deleted; nothing else in the diff moved (Fixes #22585, Clause-②: no, the changeset, the eval file and skills/objectstack-query/rules/filters.md are untouched). ✅ ACCEPT · PR #23355 at 5edd150ea3 (Fixes #22585) — Tier H, draft stays; the maintainer's approval lands it
Skills seat 1 (session_013zGKMG1cRedVzWtqGGGZW9, huangyiirene), written 2026-10-14T01:52Z. Reports 6158346331 (round 1) and 6159031316 (patch round 1 of 2) read; everything below is verified on GitHub and the tree, not on the reports.
Shape: draft PR against main; line 1 Fixes #22585 is the body's only closing keyword (no other card number in the body); Clause-②: no at line start; four files, +78/−61, three commits (the patch commit is +1/−1 on skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md:308); .changeset/22585-automation-skill-value-slots.md'@objectstack/skills': patch; check-governed-merges --pr 23355 → skills/** ×3, Tier H, 139 changed lines.
Diff: judged clause by clause against the platform on main in the ## Contract review PASS record on the PR for this head (the published skill text is a governed face). The red of round 1 is gone: line 308 carries /api/v1/meta/object/:name/state/:field again (grep -n on the head → 1 line), the nine section titles stay deleted, nothing else moved between 58792214b1 and 5edd150ea3.
Spot checks (seat readings on main18cd410dc4):FlowValueSlotSchemabuiltin-node-config.zod.ts:444; FlowCollectionSlotSchema:522 (array | envelope); io-node-config.zod.ts:486 (actionUrl a text slot since [v18] retire the {var} template dialect in flow assignment slots: refuse at registration with per-spelling remedies (the C half of #11182 ruling D, on the v18 train) #19939); flow-text-slot-template.ts:86–87,296 (current_user.id → assign, then {{ v }}); flow-value-slot-template.ts:85–86 (the date prescriptions); stdlib.ts:365–382 (isoDate / isoDatetime); validate.ts:1271 (daysFromNow, daysAgo, addDays bare-callable); engine.ts:93–107,12052 (current_user or null); context-tokens.zod.ts:332 (isKnownFilterToken); authoring-rules.ts:542 (EXPRESSION_INVALID); git grep flow-filter-token-unknown origin/main -- packages → CHANGELOG only; notify-node.ts:190 (a string is one recipient); template.ts:54 ({{ $error.message }}); cross-package-test-inputs.mjs:1296 + turbo.json:762 (the skill is a declared input of @objectstack/rest's repo tests). date-macros.zod.ts:126 (DATE_MACRO_TOKENS holds today; context-tokens.zod.ts:209–220 names {TODAY()} as the unknown-token example).
CI on 5edd150ea3: 39 check-runs — 33 success, 6 skipped, none red; Lint & Repo Gates, TypeScript Type Check, Test Core (all six shards, shard 2 included) and Check Changesetsuccess; the skips (Build Docs, Console Pin Gate, the Dogfood matrix template, Dogfood Verify CLI, Packed-tarball smoke (opt-in), Temporal Conformance) are the full-battery names on the expected-skips roster.
Prose face, sentence by sentence (the changeset): the title sentence (value slots take an envelope or a literal, text slots {{ }} holes, the single-brace dialect leaves the catalog) — matches the diff; bullet 1 (the value-slot inventory and the refusal at validate / registerFlow / executor naming the CEL spelling) — matches item 1 and the node table; bullet 2 (the text-slot inventory) — matches the rewritten text-slot paragraph; bullet 3 (run user with guard; the four date spellings) — matches item 1's dates: and run user: lines; bullet 4 (a whole-string query placeholder passes; a null operand refuses the node) — matches the Filter operands section; bullet 5 (recipients one id, a list or an envelope; a CSV is one recipient) — matches the notify example; the closing sentence (filters rule names expression-invalid in place of the retired flow-filter-token-unknown; the two eval expected outputs move with the text) — matches filters.md:167–169 and the eval diff. No sentence claims what the diff does not do.
Deviations accepted: three edits beyond the pointer lines inside the declared surface (same defect class, homes named); eval 2's retired spelling found by reading the file whole; branch not merged with main (clean; the four files unchanged on main since the base); check:dual-build-cjs-loads NOT MEASURED locally (Lint & Repo Gates green runs it); the round-1 scope-② reading "no package test owed" was wrong and the patch round corrected it; the patch commit was pushed before the closure build (the edit was complete; one commit, no rebase). Reads the dev took through gh api (the card's comments, the PR) are reads git could not answer; noted, no finding.
Body edits (seat, this stroke, as the dev requested — the dev does not PATCH): the :308 line-by-line entry, the token table row (5779 → 5755, headroom 1 → 25), the whole-package totals (144089 → 144067; 155052 → 155030), the Gates heading and first bullet re-reconciled at 5edd150ea3 (42 run, 1 NOT-MEASURED) plus the test:repo reading, the clause ② scope sentence, and 「两个 commit」→「三个 commit」 in the 速读 draft.
Carried, not this PR: a sub-issue of this card for skills/objectstack-automation/references/examples-flows.md:41,79,119–126 and references/state-machines-and-approvals.md:120 (the retired single-brace filter spelling; token headroom 10 and 7) — filed by this seat once this PR lands.
Tier H four-piece, this stroke: this ACCEPT; needs-user-decision on the PR; the final 维护者速读 comment on the PR (席位意见 filled); review requested from the governed approvers. The PR stays draft and is never flipped or enqueued by a seat; on an authorized approval this seat lands it through the relay and confirms MERGED from the queue ref and origin/main.
Landed · PR #23355 MERGED — pm:dispatched leaves this closed card; the two reference files go to a sub-issue
Skills seat 1 (session_013zGKMG1cRedVzWtqGGGZW9, huangyiirene), written 2026-10-14T02:39Z.
MERGED, two readings:GET /pulls/23355 → merged: true, merged_by: os-zhuang, merged_at 2026-10-14T02:37:02Z; origin/main → 44cadd3c6db215febc0dbb15f2833243021c1413 (subject skills(automation): value slots take a CEL envelope or a literal; the single-brace dialect leaves the skill text (#23355)); the queue ref pr-23355 is gone. Path: round 1 (6158346331) → REWORK patch round 1 (6158718736: the :308 route clause the rest teaching-site test pins) → head 5edd150ea3 green → contract review PASS 6159113344 and final 维护者速读 6159118915 on the PR, ACCEPT 6159125316 here, review requested from the governed approvers; os-zhuang APPROVED at 2026-10-14T02:13:54Z and flipped, armed and enqueued the PR by hand.
Delivered on main:skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md teaches value slots as a CEL envelope or a literal and text slots as {{ }} holes (5779 → 5755 tokens, ceiling 5780; line 308 keeps the meta state route), the eval set's two expected outputs and skills/objectstack-query/rules/filters.md:167–169 move with it; @objectstack/skills patch changeset.
Sub-issue filed (this act):skills/objectstack-automation/references/examples-flows.md (lines 41, 79, 119–126) and references/state-machines-and-approvals.md:120 still teach the single-brace filter spelling — the round-1 report's out-of-scope finding, outside this card's claimed surface; filed as a Part of #22585 card for this lane's queue, not dispatched this shift.

🔁 REWORK (patch round 1 of 2) · PR #23355 at
58792214b1— one red check, caused by this PRSkills seat 1 (
session_013zGKMG1cRedVzWtqGGGZW9, huangyiirene), written 2026-10-14T01:18Z. Report 6158346331 read; everything below is verified on GitHub and the tree, not on the report. What is red.
Test Core (2/6)on58792214b1isfailure(run 38491721838, job 115618324610):@objectstack/restpnpm run test:repoexited 1 (annotation:command (…/packages/rest) … pnpm run test:repo exited (1)).mainis green on both sides of the PR (CIon6d96721faaat 00:01Z and on228357ab69at 00:49Z:success), so this is the PR's red, not main-red.Root cause.
packages/rest/src/meta-state-route-doc-spelling.test.ts:296pinsskills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.mdas aTEACHING_SITESentry:expect(text.includes(canonicalPath))wherecanonicalPathis derived from the REST route ledger row formeta.getLegalNextStatesand reads/api/v1/meta/object/:name/state/:field. The PR's:308ratchet payment deleted the only sentence carrying that path —grep -n '/meta/object' skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.mdon the PR head → 0 lines; onmain→ line 308 (… — its state-introspection route is \GET /api/v1/meta/object/:name/state/:field?from=:state`.). The test's own message says what to do: keep the route taught in the skill, do not narrow the test. The file is a declared input of@objectstack/rest's repo tests (scripts/cross-package-test-inputs.mjs:1296,turbo.json:762`), which is why scope ② ("no package test owed — no package source changed") did not hold here. The patch.
skills/objectstack-automation/SKILL.md— the shortest form that keeps the sentence true, e.g. the:308pointer line ending… — its state-introspection route is \GET /api/v1/meta/object/:name/state/:field?from=:state`.(the test needs the exact substring/api/v1/meta/object/:name/state/:field`). The nine section titles stay deleted — that part of the payment stands.pnpm --filter @objectstack/rest test:repolocally (it needs no built package: the repo project reads the tree), and re-runnode scripts/check-skills-token-ratchet.mjs,pnpm --filter @objectstack/spec run check:skill-docsandcheck:skill-refs; record exit codes before any pipe. Same claim (6147768664): branch
claude/issue-22585-automation-skill-value-slots, assignee unchanged. The round-1 dev is unreachable after a container restart in the seat's session (the worktree is gone; the branch head58792214b1is on the remote), so a successor dev takes the branch under the worktree-takeover protocol — reads the existing commits and the PR body first, adds one commit, no rebase, no force-push.Generated by Claude Code
