refactor(planning): wayfind reads the container label from the convention home #11882
/planning:wayfind's inline container-label command (SKILL.md:16) and its tracker-mechanics
snippet read config.container_label from .work-item-tracker.json with jq, which cannot read
the YAML binding; planning's prerequisites name the JSON file too.
Origin: Q551; ADR 0075 fix 11.
Fix
Read the container label through the seam's binding reader (K19) instead of parsing a binding file
with jq, so <home>/work-items.yaml and, while it lasts, K19's JSON fallback both resolve; keep
the shipped default work-map and the stop on a non-string value. Update the prerequisites text.
Done when
git grep -l -F '.work-item-tracker' -- plugins/planning ':!**/CHANGELOG.md' prints nothing.
bash plugins/skill-quality/scripts/check-skill.sh plugins/planning/skills/wayfind exits 0 and bash scripts/check-changelog-fragments.sh passes with a planning fragment.
The lanes App's pull request #11942 merged with Refs:, so this issue stays open and nothing starts the lane on it again. work-unblock removed status: ready and agent-ready, so the hourly triage sweep sends it back to intake triage. Admission then parks it at status: confirmed for a check of what that pull request left, until a **Decision recorded.** comment says what is left or someone closes it.
Proposed work class: work-class: scoped
Basis: automated intake triage; the lanes App applied this class.
Size: Small
Complexity: Low
Uncertainty: Known
Flags: none
Blocked by: none
Understood: wayfind should read the container label through the seam's binding reader (K19) instead of parsing .work-item-tracker.json with jq. It should keep the work-map default and the stop on a non-string value, and the prerequisites text should be updated.
PR #11942 has already merged with Refs:. A search of plugins/planning finds no .work-item-tracker references now, so the first done-when item looks met. The remaining items are the check-skill.sh run on wayfind and the changelog fragment check with a planning fragment. A maintainer should confirm what is left, or close the issue if both pass.
Not admitted to the issue lane: merged pull request #11942 names it with Refs: after its newest decision or refinement comment, so its work may already be done: close the issue if it is, or post a comment whose first line is **Decision recorded.** saying what is left, which sends it back through intake. Admission takes the issue once each of those is met, when intake triages it again (.github/actions/resolve-config/admission-rules.json).
Delivered: closing as completed. Done by #11942 (77aa3db), checked by the Issue Triage session against origin/main. Criterion 1: git grep -l -F '.work-item-tracker' -- plugins/planning ':!**/CHANGELOG.md' prints nothing. Criterion 2: check-skill.sh over plugins/planning/skills reports wayfind PASS with 0 errors, and the required check-skills and changelog-fragment gates passed at merge (the PR adds a planning fragment). Gap outside the done-when, noted in #11942: a repository bound only by the root JSON with a remapped label falls back to work-map; that lasts only while the seam's JSON fallback lasts.

The triage sweep dispatched intake triage for this issue (attempt 2 of 2).

The latest triage verdict holds nothing: admission moved the issue to
status: confirmed; its comment says why.kyle-sexton commentedon Nov 2, 2026
