UI follow-up: finish Material icon inventory in specialized dialogs and legacy P2 search #578

Closed as not planned

Checkpoint context — 2026-10-15

This issue preserves the remaining app-wide visual consistency scope after the completed operator MainWindow/first-run/shared toolbar Material migration in PR #575 (HEAD 7a761feecbda9f943b6078a2a595b8e95295578f) and Browser continuation PR #577 (HEAD 4be7b51b9040a7a5f1d8ecaa1d90bbc1a3b9d081). Do not reopen the confirmed double-Events fix #574 or overwrite the operator Material SVGs.

Already covered and CI-proven

Not yet claimed

  • Specialized secondary dialogs and ancillary tools have not been exhaustively inventoried, and remaining compatibility geometry resources exist by design.
  • Resources/P2IndustrialControls.xaml still contains a LucideSearch Path used by a legacy search template; inspect actual consumers and migrate only if active. Do not delete legacy keys without consumer/reference proof.

Acceptance checklist

  1. Inventory rendered icons across the specialized FAT, Diagnostics, RCB/GOOSE, Event Log, Settings Group, files/COMTRADE and other dialogs (not just resource declarations).
  2. Replace visibly inconsistent glyphs with local licensed Material geometry while keeping button commands, Tags, hotkeys, control semantics, shape colors and WPF DPI behavior unchanged.
  3. Exactly one glyph per affordance; avoid ContentTemplate wrapping a built-in Viewbox/Path. Add STA WPF composition tests, not only XAML string assertions.
  4. Verify 100%, 125% and 150% Windows scaling, responsive header resizing, full/empty IED onboarding and status/tooltips.
  5. Run exact-SHA ARSAS Windows managed/native/portable + installer regression; physical screenshot acceptance belongs to the operator, not CI.

Boundaries

No IEC 61850 engine/protocol change, RCB/GI/control writes, unsafe unsolicited MMS operations or public main promotion. Keep prior checkpoint PRs draft until authorized. This is a separate scoped follow-up and does not invalidate the completed primary UI deliverable.

D29 cleanup — historical scope retired (NOT a completed implementation)

The 2026-10-15 Material-icon inventory follow-up is an older visual backlog. Its legacy PR family is now archived and the current cross-window visual work is tracked (without hardware capture) under #730. Close this duplicate/outdated planning issue as not planned; icon inventory is NOT claimed finished.

Latest operator-accepted evidence remains authoritative for its observed behavior. No additional capture is requested, no safety checks bypassed, and no change to current application/engine/stable release.
