A new run now asks each route its roles take for the quota it has left before anything is written. Where a route reports one, the run's estimate for that route's roles (about 80000 tokens an agent, the implementer and two reviewers per step, the auditor once) is compared with it, and a run it exceeds is refused naming both numbers. A route that reports none, the host and every shipped runner today, is named and its check skipped out loud in the result and the run record. A runner that answers with a rate-limit response is no longer fallen back on. The step frees that agent's slot, checkpoints every lane with work in flight to its own branch in the run record, ends the window early with next_eligible_at written once, names the lane, role and runner, and exits 0 naming the time. The claude and opencode adapters recognise the response; the event shapes they read are assumptions a live check still owes. Closed unmerged: while it was held for the v0.13.4 cut, main gained the security batch (#883) and the lost-connection work, which conflict with this branch in the loop's options and step result. Pacing is being rebuilt by a fresh build run on the current main, so its reviews judge the code that lands. |
