Daniel asked for the first CyberUnicorn OS release, which the website's Update firmware button (frequency-web #3745) reads. The cloud environment can't push tags (the git proxy answers 403), so this lets the workflow create the tag itself.

What changes

  • workflow_dispatch gets a release boolean. With it ticked on main, the release job runs after the build and publishes cu5k-v<OS_VERSION> on the built commit (softprops/action-gh-release with tag_name + target_commitish), with app.bin, full.bin and manifest.json.
  • A pushed cu5k-v* tag still works as before, and is still checked against OS_VERSION.
  • CLAUDE.md notes the manual path.

After merge

Run the workflow on main with release = true. That gives cu5k-v0.1.0 from main.

Generated by Claude Code

workflow_dispatch with release=true builds main and creates
cu5k-v<OS_VERSION> on that commit with app.bin, full.bin and
manifest.json, for when a tag can't be pushed by hand.
