Corrected against the code at v0.87.0:

README said Code says
"six interchangeable backends" eight: X11, Wayland, GTK4 (opt-in, $GO_WIDGETS_GTK), Cocoa, Win32, Android, wasmbox, browser tab (#139)
backends table without GTK4 open_linux_only.go picks gtk.Open when $GO_WIDGETS_GTK is set (row added)
window.Open(cfg) (*Window, error), "Linux only" Open(cfg Config) (Backend, error) on every platform with a back-end; ErrUnsupported elsewhere
(*Window).Run/Close/Size Backend: Run, Close, Size, String
"a presentRect damage path is ready … toolkit exposes none today" window.go:587 and wlwindow.go:650 take DamageRenderer; X11 presents with MIT-SHM ShmPutImage, Wayland with wl_shm damage; the reference is toolkit/scene.HostRoot
"Wayland is a separate future backend, out of scope" removed: it's in the table

README only.

The intro counted six back-ends; with GTK4 (opt-in, $GO_WIDGETS_GTK) and the
browser-tab canvas (#139) there are eight, and GTK4 was missing from the
table. The Public API section described the X11-only July Open: it returns
a Backend, on every platform that has one. Design notes said Wayland was a
future back-end and that no damage list existed; both X11 (MIT-SHM) and
Wayland (wl_shm damage) take the DamageRenderer path today.
