🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Do not save the document on every keystroke from a controlled input.
Both inputs are controlled by document state (value={region.keys} and value={region.label ?? ""}). Each onChange calls tl.updateKeystroke, which calls saveDocument(next, { history: true }) with the render-closure document. This causes four failures:
- Lost characters: the store installs the document only after the IPC save returns. Until then, the input shows the old value. The next keystroke builds its patch from the stale
document, so fast typing drops characters. - Keys field cannot be cleared: a trimmed empty value is ignored, so the value never changes. When the user deletes the last character, the deleted text reappears.
- Undo is unusable: every character creates its own undo entry and its own disk write.
- Long labels fail to save: the schema caps
labelat 120 characters, but the input has nomaxLength. Each keystroke past 120 sends a document that fails validation.
Keep a local draft and commit it on blur or Enter, like AnnotationSizeField and SpeedControl already do. Canonicalize the keys with parseShortcutKeys(...).join("+"), as the agent path does.

Add native compositor support for keystrokeRegions.
The native Scene does not declare or render keystrokeRegions. Serde ignores this unknown field, so parsing succeeds, but native-composited frames and exports omit the callouts. Add compositor support before relying on this field for exported output.

buildKeystrokeTrackonly projects its caller-suppliedsamples. The repository has no sidecar reader or writer, and the editor and agent paths createkeystrokeRangesfrom manually supplied keys. Therefore, an ordinary user cannot turn recorded.keys.jsonshortcuts into timeline callouts or agent-visible telemetry. Add the sidecar capture/ingestion and IPC/MCP connection at the recording or integration boundary, then pass the filtered samples into this helper.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents
