Summary

  • One click to an app. POST /start makes the app and goes to /start/<secret>. The page's script asks for JSON, so it can copy the command while the click still counts. Signed in, the app goes in the account instead. No form to fill in.
  • /start/<secret>: the one command, links that open Cursor, Claude Code or Claude in VS Code with a short prompt filled in (they run nothing), a status that turns to Connected when the first page load arrives, and "Save it to a free account".
  • GET /api/projects/<secret>/status: one row for that status, rather than the whole stats on every poll.
  • A new app's dashboard opens with the same command. The paragraph about batches and local hosts is one click away.
  • init prints less after it applies. The telemetry note keeps what is sent, how to turn it off and both links. This ships with the next runtime release; everything else works with the published 0.3.0-beta.5 CLI.

Evidence

Real browser, the published CLI and a fresh Vite app, against local copies of the worker and site (40 of 40 checks):

  • One click lands on the setup page with the command on the clipboard; without JavaScript the form still works.
  • The pasted command sets the app up after one Enter, and the dev page shows the overlay and sends nothing.
  • A built page on a non-local host turned the setup page to Connected 10 to 12 s after it loaded.
  • No sideways scroll at 390 and 1280 px on the 11 pages changed.

Worker tests: 371 pass. CLI tests: 148 pass. Worker source typechecks with strict.

Not tested

  • "Save it to a free account" through a real sign-up: the local setup cannot pass the origin check without looking self-hosted. The claim route itself has existing tests.
  • The Cursor and Claude links opening those apps: the URLs are checked against each vendor's docs, not clicked through into the apps.
  • The signed-in path in a browser: covered by a worker test only.

Deploying

Deploy this before the site (genclass-dev/genclass-site, branch site/onboarding): its buttons post to /start. No migrations. It also ships e8767ebf and 22590994 if they are not live by then.
