Stacked on #131 (base claude/exciting-bohr-yivjyo), because #131 edits the same READMEs, FAQ, init.mjs, pages.ts and tests; it merges after #131, and GitHub retargets it to main when that branch is deleted.

The repository GenClass-lib is genclass-dev/GenClass. Every reference to the old name (github.com/genclass-dev/GenClass-lib, raw.githubusercontent.com/..., genclass-dev/GenClass-lib in npx skills add, /plugin marketplace add, degit, StackBlitz and actions/checkout lines, and bare GenClass-lib names that mean the repository) becomes genclass-dev/GenClass: 80 files, 431 replacements, in two commits.

What changed

Code and manifests (32 files, first commit)

  • npm manifests: repository and bugs of @genclass/mcp, @genclass/astro, @genclass/nuxt, @genclass/playwright (and its homepage), @genclass/runtime-model, @genclass/sv, genclass-runtime; packages/mcp/server.json (the next mcp-v* publish would fail its provenance repository check otherwise).
  • Plugin: plugin/plugin.json and plugin/.claude-plugin/plugin.json (repository, documentationUrl, supportUrl, privacyPolicyUrl); scripts/mcpb.mjs (bundle manifest); scripts/plugin-repo.mjs (the sync.yml it generates for genclass-dev/genclass-plugin checks out genclass-dev/GenClass; the vendored-bin note; comments).
  • Source: packages/sv/src/index.ts (doc links, homepage), packages/mcp/src/clients.ts, packages/runtime/bin/lib/init.mjs (REPO), demos/src/shared/demos.ts (REPO_URL), telemetry-worker/src/pages.ts and studio.ts, compat/harness/report.mjs (incl. git clone ... && cd GenClass), scripts/vm.sh, the six docs/adoption/hunts/*/hunt.mjs (usage comments; the mealie harness's hardcoded /home/user/GenClass-lib/ checkout path became /home/user/GenClass/, so set it back if that VM still has the old directory).
  • Workflows and templates: the owner-setup comments in release.yml and release-mcp.yml, .github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/config.yml, docs/adoption/listings/nuxt-modules.yml.
  • Tests that pin the old name, changed with the code: packages/mcp/test/manifests.test.ts (the sync workflow's repository:), packages/runtime/test/install/cli.test.ts (the PRIVACY.md link init prints).
  • npm run sync -w @genclass/mcp after the manifest edits regenerated nothing further (it pins versions only).

Docs (48 files, second commit): README.md, packages/runtime/README.md, FAQ.md, llms.txt, llms-install.md, TELEMETRY.md, MODEL_CARD.md, INTERCEPTION.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, CITATION.cff, SECURITY.md, PRIVACY.md, both CHANGELOGs, the plugin, framework-package, runtime-model, playwright and template READMEs, compat/RESULTS.md, docs/runtime/{AGENT,CONTRACT,VISUAL}.md, the listing drafts under docs/adoption, the hunt write-ups and issue drafts, bench/visual/README.md, realapps/apps/README.md, the advisory draft's header line. In docs/adoption/listings/mcp.md the "Repository" line is rewritten by hand so it still describes daybot-solutions-inc/GenClass-lib and genclass-dev/GenClass-lib as old names that GitHub redirects (a mechanical replacement would have made the sentence false); the Glama badge path in the awesome-mcp-servers draft follows the rename, and that draft already says to confirm the Glama path once listed.

Deliberately left (git grep -n GenClass-lib after this PR: 94 lines in 44 files, all below)

  1. AGENTS.md (1 line): line 3, "working in GenClass-lib".
  2. Links that pin a commit, or a name next to one (4 lines): docs/runtime/RESULTS.md:120 (/blob/1f0f617/), docs/adoption/hunts/payload.md:45 and vendure.md:46 (GenClass-lib \d77ffd8`), docs/security/2026-10-mode-raise.md:391(PR #64 link next to commit12f4a5c). RESULTS.md's measured numbers are untouched; it had no plain blob/main` link to fix.
  3. bench/heal/results/ and bench/hunt/results/ (34 lines in 25 files): 20 result JSONs under bench/heal/results/demos/ (one source path each), bench/hunt/results/{e2e-buggy,strapi-search}/report.{md,json} and sample/test-repeat.txt.

Also left, for the owner to decide (not in the three categories above):
4. Prose about the rename itself (5 lines): packages/runtime/CHANGELOG.md:88 ("the old name, GenClass-lib, redirects"), docs/adoption/listings/skills.md:16,32 ("renamed from GenClass-lib", "the old npx skills add genclass-dev/GenClass-lib"), docs/adoption/listings/mcp.md:26-27 (the rewritten sentence).
5. Captured records (47 lines in 10 files): docs/evidence/2026-10-25/README.md:7-11 (PR links in a table next to their merge commits), docs/evidence/e2e-walkthrough/{out/05-init.txt,out/12-mcp-init.txt,out/13-agent-setup.txt,run.log} (verbatim CLI output the screenshots were rendered from), docs/adoption/hunts/payload-hunt/out/*.log (37 lines: /tmp/claude-0/-home-user-GenClass-lib/... scratch paths).
6. Local checkout paths (3 lines): demo-site/DEMO-SCRIPT.md:38,47,181 (~/GenClass-lib-main/, the owner's worktree, which still has that name).
7. Lower-case genclass-lib (not matched by the grep above): the npm workspace root is named genclass-lib in package.json and package-lock.json (renaming it is a lockfile edit, not done here), and the skills.sh listing paths skills.sh/genclass-dev/genclass-lib/genclass in mcp.md:383 and skills.md:94 (an external directory's path).

Confirmed with grep: the frozen model-visible text under packages/runtime/src/situation/ never mentioned the name, and no test/review-*.test.ts does.

genclass-dev/genclass-plugin

The plugin manifest changes (plugin.json, .claude-plugin/plugin.json, README) reach genclass-dev/genclass-plugin through its daily sync. One file there is not synced: its own .github/workflows/sync.yml (the workflow overwrites everything but .git and .github), so its repository: genclass-dev/GenClass-lib keeps working through GitHub's redirect until a person copies the regenerated template over (node packages/mcp/scripts/plugin-repo.mjs <dir> writes it).

Checks

  • ONNXRUNTIME_NODE_INSTALL=skip npm ci --no-audit --no-fund: ok.
  • MCP: npm run typecheck -w @genclass/mcp && npm run build -w @genclass/mcp && (cd packages/mcp && npx vitest run): 12 files, 156 tests passed; npm run sync -w @genclass/mcp: 42 passed, nothing regenerated.
  • sv unit: cd packages/sv && npx vitest run --project unit .: 2 files, 24 tests passed (the e2e needs pnpm, Chromium and the network; CI).
  • Worker: cd telemetry-worker && npx vitest run .: 15 files, 361 tests passed.
  • Runtime: npm run typecheck -w @genclass/runtime and npm run build -w @genclass/runtime: ok; NODE_OPTIONS=--expose-gc npx vitest run --exclude "test/browser/**" --exclude test/review-perf.test.ts: 103 files passed, 1 skipped; 1272 tests passed, 14 skipped (the model-parity tests that need GENCLASS_MODEL_DIR), 90 s; npx vitest run test/review-perf.test.ts --retry=2 (timing budgets, reported, not blocking): 1 file, 4 tests passed on the first try, 1.7 s.
  • Not run: the browser suites, the install suite, smoke, the e2e of mcp/sv/playwright, anything on Azure.

Re-runnable on a fresh main if this PR conflicts: python3 -I rename-genclass.py <repo root> [--dry-run] (the script applies the rules above with the skip-list for categories 1 to 7, and prints every file it changed and every hit it kept; it is saved outside the repository, in the session's scratchpad).

The repository GenClass-lib is now genclass-dev/GenClass (GitHub redirects
the old name). The npm manifests' repository and bugs URLs (@genclass/mcp,
astro, nuxt, playwright, runtime-model, sv, genclass-runtime), server.json
(the next mcp-v* publish fails its provenance repository check otherwise),
both plugin manifests, the MCP bundle and plugin-repo scripts (the sync
workflow they generate for genclass-dev/genclass-plugin now checks out
genclass-dev/GenClass), the sv add-on's doc links and homepage, the MCP
client install text, the runtime CLI's REPO constant, the demos' REPO_URL,
the dashboard pages' links, the compat report generator, scripts/vm.sh,
the hunt harnesses' usage comments (and the mealie harness's hardcoded
checkout path), the release workflows' owner-setup comments, the issue
template links and the nuxt-modules listing entry.

The two tests that pin the old name (packages/mcp/test/manifests.test.ts,
packages/runtime/test/install/cli.test.ts) change with the code.
`npm run sync -w @genclass/mcp` regenerates nothing further.

Every plain link and bare repository name in the Markdown, llms.txt,
llms-install.md and CITATION.cff. Left as they were: links that pin a
commit (/blob/1f0f617/ in docs/runtime/RESULTS.md; the names next to
d77ffd8 in payload.md and vendure.md; the PR link next to commit 12f4a5c
in the advisory draft), the prose about the rename itself (the runtime
CHANGELOG entry that records it, docs/adoption/listings/skills.md), AGENTS.md,
the recorded bench results, the captured evidence and hunt logs, and the
owner's local checkout path in demo-site/DEMO-SCRIPT.md. The Repository
line of docs/adoption/listings/mcp.md now names both old names as old names
that GitHub redirects.

…enclass-dev/GenClass

"repository: genclass-dev/GenClass" is a prefix of the old "repository: genclass-dev/GenClass-lib", so a
toContain check would still pass against the old name; match the whole line instead.

Superseded by #155, which moved these commits onto main so the rename no longer waits for #131. #131 has since merged main and its two new links were updated.
