## Can I use it without an account?

Yes. Two commands set up every open-source part, and nothing asks you to sign in:
`npx @genclass/runtime@beta init --agent` (the runtime in observe mode, the dev-only overlay and agent link, and the
app's free dashboard link; `--agent` is new in `0.3.0-beta.6`) and `npx -y @genclass/mcp@0.2.1 init` (the MCP server and the `genclass` skill for Claude Code).
Anonymous diagnostics stay on, as with every `init` (never page text, never from local hosts);
`init --no-telemetry --agent` turns them off and creates no dashboard link. Details:
[INSTALL.md](https://github.com/genclass-dev/GenClass/blob/main/docs/runtime/INSTALL.md#how-do-i-set-up-the-open-source-parts-only).

## How is it different from Sentry, Datadog or my tests?

Error trackers and APM collect exceptions, traces and timings; a stale response or a double submit usually throws

**Two commands, no account.** They set up every open-source part, and nothing asks you to sign in (`--agent` is new

```bash
npx @genclass/runtime@beta init --agent # the runtime (observe), the dev-only overlay and agent link, your free dashboard link
npx -y @genclass/mcp@0.2.1 init # the GenClass MCP server and the `genclass` skill for Claude Code
The first adds one marked import plus an option file with the app's token (plain HTML: the script tag with
`data-token`; Astro: a `<meta name="genclass">` line), creates the app's free dashboard link at genclass.dev (it sends
the package name, nothing else) and keeps anonymous diagnostics on, as every `init` does (never page text, never from
local hosts; `init --no-telemetry --agent` turns them off and creates no link); the second writes
`.mcp.json` and `.claude/skills/genclass/SKILL.md` (other agents: `npx -y @genclass/mcp@0.2.1 config <client>`). Nothing
else is needed; `npx @genclass/runtime@beta remove` undoes the first
([the open-source setup](docs/runtime/INSTALL.md#how-do-i-set-up-the-open-source-parts-only)).
Or by hand: `npm install @genclass/runtime@beta`, then first in your entry file (any bundler; Next.js 15.3 or later:
`instrumentation-client.ts`, earlier versions: a client component in the root layout or `pages/_app`):
## Skill and plugin directories (2026-10-28)
The skill's own listings (skills.sh, `gh skill`, cursor.directory, the curated lists, what the skill file needs where)
are in [skills.md](skills.md) (2026-11-02); this section keeps the plugin and MCP-server directories.
The skill is `skills/genclass/SKILL.md`, at the root of both repositories; the plugin is the root of genclass-plugin.
Verified on this machine on 2026-10-28 from the pushed repository: `claude plugin marketplace add`, `codex plugin
marketplace add` and `codex plugin add genclass@genclass`, `gemini extensions install`, `gh skill install` (gh 2.103)
