## Change **Declare the upstream `vfox-gcloud` plugin in `[plugins]` so `mise` overrides its broken embedded copy.** `mise` `2026.10.20` and `2026.10.21` vendor `mise-plugins/vfox-gcloud@a291554`, which moved `python.lua` into `hooks/` without adding `hooks/?.lua` to Lua's `package.path` ([jdx/mise#15034](jdx/mise#15034)). Every shell startup and `mise` invocation fails to load `gcloud`'s `mise_env` hook (`module 'python' not found`), printing warnings and omitting `gcloud` from `PATH`. Adding `"vfox:gcloud" = "https://github.com/mise-plugins/vfox-gcloud"` under `[plugins]` in `dot_config/mise/config.toml` instructs `mise install` to clone the upstream repository (`8bc2e33`, where `python.lua` lives in `lib/python.lua`) as a local plugin override while preserving the `vfox:mise-plugins/vfox-gcloud` lockfile backend. The URL omits a `#<sha>` fragment because `mise` `2026.10.20`'s `gix` backend panics when checking out a commit SHA revision. ## Verification **Verified fresh plugin installation, environment resolution, and repository gates on macOS (`macos-arm64`).** - Removed the local `gcloud` plugin checkout, applied `dot_config/mise/config.toml`, ran `mise -C "$HOME" --locked install -y gcloud` and `mise cache clear`, and confirmed `mise` cloned `vfox-gcloud@8bc2e33` cleanly. - Verified `MISE_ENV_CACHE=0 mise env -s fish` and interactive Fish startup (`fish -lic 'command -v gcloud && gcloud --version'`) resolve `gcloud` on `PATH` with zero warnings. - Ran `mise run check`, `mise run test`, and `mise run doctor`. ## Risks **Low risk; easy rollback.** `mise` clones `https://github.com/mise-plugins/vfox-gcloud` only when the local plugin override is absent. Once a `mise` release after `2026.10.21` re-vendors `vfox-gcloud@8bc2e33`, remove the `[plugins]` entry and run `mise plugins uninstall gcloud && mise cache clear`.
