doActivity that accepts events from its state machine #701
Description
Why
Long-running activities that wait for events from the machine are used in practice (XState fromCallback appears in about 3% of machine files; requested here in #521). Five PSSM cases need it (requires:do_activity_accept).
Scope
- A way for an invoke handler to wait for and receive events dispatched to its machine, offered only while the handler is waiting.
- Sync and async engines; thread safety of the hand-off.
Acceptance
The five requires:do_activity_accept cases leave the xfail map (those that also need deferral stay coded requires:defer).
