Fedify's public declarations used the ambient CryptoKey and CryptoKeyPair types, so the consumer's lib setting decided which declaration those names resolved to. Since @types/node 24.7.0, Node.js's webcrypto.KeyUsage includes the ML-KEM usages, which makes its usage array incompatible with the DOM/Web Worker one. Applications could not pass keys from node:crypto to Fedify.
Casting inside Fedify cannot fix an error at the caller's assignment, so the input positions now accept the structural CryptoKeyLike and CryptoKeyPairLike types from packages/vocab-runtime/src/crypto-key.ts. Keys returned by Fedify keep the ambient types, so they still pass to crypto.subtle.* without a cast. ActorKeyPairsDispatcher gained an optional key pair type parameter that defaults to CryptoKeyPair, so code calling a dispatcher directly keeps its narrow return type.
Widened the input positions of the key pairs dispatchers, SenderKeyPair, the signing and proof helpers, exportJwk(), the authenticated document loader identity, and the key export helpers in @fedify/vocab-runtime.
Widened only the publicKey inputs of CryptographicKey and Multikey in the generator, keeping the getters narrow.
Added a type-level regression test in packages/fedify/src/sig/key-types.test.ts that mimics the wider Node.js usage union, because the repository's own type check uses the Web Worker lib and cannot reproduce the failure.
Added changelog fragments for the affected packages.
Benefits
Applications on Node.js can pass Web Crypto keys from node:crypto directly, without as CryptoKey casts. The change is source-compatible except for implementations of AuthenticatedDocumentLoaderFactory that annotate the identity parameter with the ambient type, which now need CryptoKeyLike.
Fedify's public declarations referred to the ambient `CryptoKey` and
`CryptoKeyPair` types, so the consumer's `lib` setting decided which
declaration those names resolved to. Since `@types/node` 24.7.0,
Node.js's `webcrypto.KeyUsage` includes the ML-KEM usages, which makes
its usage array incompatible with the DOM and Web Worker one.
Applications could not pass keys obtained from `node:crypto` to
Fedify.
Input positions now accept the structural `CryptoKeyLike` and
`CryptoKeyPairLike` types added to `@fedify/vocab-runtime`, while the
keys Fedify returns keep the ambient types. `ActorKeyPairsDispatcher`
takes an optional key pair type parameter that defaults to
`CryptoKeyPair`, so code calling a dispatcher directly keeps its narrow
return type. The vocabulary code generator uses the wider type for
constructor and `clone()` inputs, and the getters stay narrow.
The repository's own type check cannot reproduce the failure because it
uses the Web Worker lib and never passes `node:crypto` keys into the
API, so a type-level regression test mimics the wider Node.js usage
union.

The change adds structural Web Crypto key types and updates key-related runtime and Fedify APIs to accept them. It also updates vocabulary generation so constructor and clone inputs use CryptoKeyLike, while getters retain ambient CryptoKey types.
vocab-runtime adds and exports CryptoKeyLike and CryptoKeyPairLike. Its document-loader and key-export APIs accept structural keys. Export operations adapt keys to ambient CryptoKey.
Fedify key API integration packages/fedify/src/federation/*, packages/fedify/src/sig/*, packages/fedify/src/utils/docloader.ts, packages/fedify/src/sig/key-types.test.ts, changes.d/fedify/node-webcrypto-keys.md, CHANGES.md
Fedify dispatchers and key-related APIs accept structural key types. Signing and actor-key handling convert keys for Web Crypto operations. Compile-time checks cover Node.js key shapes.
Vocabulary generation now uses CryptoKeyLike for public-key and multibase-key inputs. Generated vocabulary code imports the type from vocab-runtime; getter types remain unchanged. Code generation freshness checks also include generator source files.

Explanation
Issue #554 requires Fedify APIs to accept Node.js Web Crypto keys with the wider usage union introduced in @types/node 24.7.0. CryptoKeyLike and CryptoKeyPairLike use structural key shapes. The affected dispatcher, signing, proof, loader, export, and generated vocabulary inputs use these types. Returned keys and getters remain ambient types. key-types.test.ts checks the Node.js usage union and the affected public parameters at compile time.

The codegen freshness check compared vocab.ts only against the YAML
schemas, so an existing checkout kept the old generated code after a
change to the vocabulary generator. Compare it against the generator
sources under packages/vocab-tools/src as well.

CodeRabbit's docstring coverage check flagged the changed generator
files, so add the missing docstrings to the helper that builds the
constructor parameter types and to the type name resolvers.
fedify-dev#1391 (review)

Changelog: none
Addressed the docstring coverage check from #1391 (review) in 6eadc8f. The changed generator files now document the helper that builds constructor parameter types and the type name resolvers in packages/vocab-tools/src/constructor.ts and packages/vocab-tools/src/type.ts.
The inline note about the codegen freshness check is fixed in 666e1ab and answered on its thread.
Add compile-time assertions for the clone inputs of CryptographicKey and Multikey.
The compile-time checks cover only the constructor publicKey parameters. The generated clone methods also accept publicKey?: CryptoKeyLike | null, but no assertion checks them. A regression in the clone signature would pass the current checks. The first clone parameter defaults to {}, so it includes undefined. Unwrap it before indexing publicKey.

The generated code embeds the @fedify/vocab-tools version from its
deno.json in tracing calls, so a version bump alone must invalidate
vocab.ts. Include the generator metadata in the freshness check.

parameters. Add the generated clone() inputs for CryptographicKey and

fedify-dev#1391 (review)
Assisted-by: OpenCode:deepseek-flash
Changelog: none
Addressed the outside-diff clone assertion from #1391 (review) in 22677c2. packages/fedify/src/sig/key-types.test.ts now checks the generated clone() inputs of CryptographicKey and Multikey against the wider Node.js key type.
The docstring coverage check still reports a failure. The functions this PR adds or changes are documented; the remaining count comes from pre-existing undocumented helpers in the generator files, so repo-wide docstring coverage is outside this PR.
