PR CI takes ~40-55 min and master ~55 min, mostly from sequencing and single-threaded builds of 414 modules.

  • Run integration-tests in parallel with incremental-build. It already runs its own full install, so it never used incremental-build's output; the needs: only serialized ~14 min. PR critical path becomes the longer of the two jobs.
  • -T 1C on builds that skip tests: both quick installs, Build itest dependencies, and deploy. Builds with tests are unchanged.
Step (recent runs) Before Expected
Quick install (skip tests), x2 per PR 8-9 min each ~3-5 min (estimate)
PR critical path 9 + 16-30 (incremental) then 8 + 5 (itests) max of the two jobs
Deploy (master) 16 min ~6-8 min (estimate)

Trade-off: integration tests now also run when the incremental build fails (free runner minutes on a public repo).

Estimates are extrapolated; this PR's own CI run uses the updated workflow and will show the actual PR-side numbers. Deploy only runs on master/patch branches, so its timing shows after merge.
