docs(spec): a TS or RS namespace starting ns: or nsapi: is not in default (LAB-12097) - #225
Wording only. Four published sentences said that every key cachekit-ts and cachekit-rs generate lands in the default namespace, "whatever their namespace setting". That is not true when the namespace setting itself starts with ns: or nsapi:: a namespace of ns:team produces ns:team:… keys, which the server scopes to team. decisions/namespace-isolation.md already documents this case as hand-crafting a prefix, and the Namespace row of the key-validation table (spec/cache-key-format.md) already enforces it.
spec/saas-api.md § Consistency: unprefixed keys still belong to default; keys from cachekit-ts and cachekit-rs belong to default unless they start with ns: or nsapi: (for example under a TypeScript wrap() or Rust client namespace of ns:team; TypeScript set()'s namespace option never changes the key), linked to the decision record's Context section; interop-mode keys always belong to default. The condition tests the key, not the namespace setting, so it also covers a Rust caller-supplied key such as ns:team:x on a client built without .namespace(). The same paragraph now says cachekit-py's namespace= option writes ns:{name}: keys in auto mode only: a decorator key= ({id}-{namespace}:{key}) and interop mode write unprefixed keys. docs.cachekit.io mirrors this sentence word for word and gets the same change in a separate docs PR.
spec/cache-key-format.md, Default namespace row: one added sentence says that a TypeScript or Rust key starting with ns: or nsapi: is not in this open write space, and the example list is marked "by default"; the Namespace and Write spaces rows apply. The example list now says "Rust keys" rather than "Rust caller-supplied keys", since a namespaced Rust client's {ns}:{key} is usually unprefixed too.
No rule, grammar, regex or conformance requirement changes. The Namespace row and every key grammar are byte-identical. No changelog fragment: the change corrects an informative sentence and changes no behaviour.
Verification
grep -rn "whatever their namespace" spec/ prints nothing.
tools/check-spec-duplication.py, check-version-floors.py, path-encoding-verify.py and freshness-headers-verify.py pass locally.

Summary by CodeRabbit
Documentation
Clarified that TypeScript and Rust keys beginning with ns: or nsapi: follow the Namespace rule, including when a configured namespace generates that prefix.
Updated the consistency guidance to distinguish namespace-prefixed keys from unprefixed keys: SDK keys use default unless prefixed with ns: or nsapi:, while interop-mode keys always use default.
Walkthrough
The cache-key format and SaaS API specifications now clarify namespace assignment for TypeScript and Rust keys with ns: or nsapi: prefixes. The SaaS API specification also states that interop-mode keys use the default namespace.
The cache-key format specification directs prefixed TypeScript and Rust keys to the Namespace rule. The SaaS API specification states that those SDK keys use default when neither prefix is present, and that interop-mode keys use default.
cachekit-io/protocol#217: Corrects SDK namespace wording for ns and nsapi handling in auto mode.
