Do you happen to have sample before & after output you should paste here?

@jbertram say you kill your broker instead of a clean shutdown. The ID Generator will have a big skip...
next time you start the broker you will have a bigger next ID and data is generated.

I'm dealing with a test where I'm doing a lot of restarts.. and I'm having this output

└──────────┴────────┴──────────────────────────────┴───────┴────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘

the ID gets a break, and its less readable:

│Update │42949714│
│ │ 57 │

this avoids a break in the IDs... it gets a lot more readable.

I'm using this to debug a test.. I'm basically eating my own dog food and found it hard to understand.

talking about debugging the test.. I need to merge this as I need to debug that test :)

If you have issues let me know and I will come back to this.
