Summary

  • Drop Codex multi-agent encrypted_content blocks while converting Responses content to Chat messages.
  • Drop messages that become empty after removing non-chat payloads.
  • Add regression tests for agent messages, cipher-only messages, and mixed text/image content.

Evidence

Codex agent_message items contain opaque encrypted blocks that Chat Completions cannot represent. Forwarding them inside a user content array caused raccoon Invalid user message at index 32 and workbuddy unsupported content type encrypted_content errors.

Validation

  • cargo check --lib passes.
  • The targeted test build is blocked by two pre-existing compile errors elsewhere on current beta (api/pipeline.rs missing RequestQuery fields and provider_loop/tests.rs outdated send_with_retry call). The new regression tests are included but could not run against this beta baseline.
