A Claude Code skill that makes safe, project-ready Xcode PNG image sets from SF Symbols or Iconify.
Made for iOS and macOS developers who need icons inside an app. It creates 1x, 2x, and 3x files for an Xcode asset catalog. It does not make the main home screen app icon.
Making one small Xcode icon can take too many steps.
You must find a real icon, match the app style, size each file, and write Contents.json. A bad name or missing file can break the asset set. This skill guides Claude Code through the full task and checks common risks before shipping.
It fits into your current Claude Code flow. No new app or tool window is needed.
Run one command:
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/ios-icon-gen && curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/xcode-icon-maker-plus/xcode-icon-maker-plus/main/skill/SKILL.md -o ~/.claude/skills/ios-icon-gen/SKILL.mdThe icon scripts from this repo must also be available in the skill folder when Claude runs the chosen tool.
Ask Claude Code for the icon you need:
Create a blue receipt image set named expenseReceipt in
./MyApp/Assets.xcassets/Icons. Match the size, line style,
color, and empty space used by the current icons.
Claude will first check the project style. It will then pick SF Symbols or Iconify, check the icon name, and create an image set like this:
./MyApp/Assets.xcassets/Icons/expenseReceipt.imageset/
Contents.json
expenseReceipt.png
expenseReceipt@2x.png
expenseReceipt@3x.png
The default point size is 68. That makes PNG files at 68, 136, and 204 pixels.
Before the work is done, Claude checks that the images are sharp, centered, and not cut off. It also checks that every file named in Contents.json exists.
- Rewrote the long, mostly Japanese guide as short and clear English steps.
- Made it clear that this skill creates image sets used inside an app, not home screen app icons.
- Added safety checks for Iconify licenses, SF Symbols target OS support, and real icon names.
- Added clear style rules that check space, fill or line style, names, and whether an existing asset may be replaced.
- Removed reference facts such as collection counts. Added practical help for failed searches, network errors, naming rules, and color formats.
