This page lists all releases. Each release has files you can download.
Look for the newest release at the top of the list. It will have a version number and the date it was published.
Within the latest release, find the file named something like:
- EverythingQuickSearch.exe
- or similar executable file
Click on the file name to start the download.
Once the download finishes, go to your browser’s default download folder. This is usually the “Downloads” folder in your user directory.
For everything to work correctly, the file Everything64.dll should be next to the executable. Sometimes this file comes bundled in a ZIP archive or directly next to the EXE. Make sure both files are in the same folder.
Double-click the downloaded executable to open the app. You can also right-click the file and select “Open” if the double-click does not work immediately.
Windows might ask if you want to allow the app to run. Click “Yes” or “Allow” to continue.
Once open, simply type what you want to find in the search box. The app will show matching files instantly.
- Type part or all of a file name to see live results.
- Use common keyboard keys to navigate results (Arrow keys, Enter).
- Click on a result to open the file or folder.
- Use the search box filters to narrow down results (e.g., file type or size).
- The app stays fast even with many files indexed.
Check the download page regularly for new versions. Download the latest release file using the same steps above. Replace the old executable and DLL files with the new ones in your folder.
The app won’t start:
Make sure Everything64.dll is placed next to the app executable. Both files must be in the same folder.
Search results are empty:
Confirm that the Everything search service (version 1.4.1 or later) is running on your system. This service indexes your files. If you do not have it installed, you can download it from the Everything official site.
App runs slow or freezes:
Restart your computer and reopen the app. Ensure your disk is not full or heavily used by other programs.
For detailed usage and advanced settings, you can visit the official Everything search website. EverythingQuickSearch depends on the Everything engine to deliver its results quickly.
