Branch protection lists `validate` as a required status check, but no job produced a check by that name: the three jobs rename their checks via `name:`, and `npm run validate` -- which exists in package.json -- was never run in CI. Every pull request was therefore blocked indefinitely on a check that could not arrive, which is why PR #5 sits open with an otherwise green CI.
