The dock input submits on any Enter keydown. With an IME, Enter is also
the key that confirms a conversion, so the question is sent while the user is
still composing.

It also leaves text behind. submitQuestion() clears the field with
setSearchQuery(''), but the IME commit is still pending at that point, so the
committed text lands in the now-empty input. In the issue's video the question
useQueryについて解説 is sent and について解説 stays in the box.

Checking event.nativeEvent.isComposing skips that keydown. The other
composers in this repo already do this — RetryComposer, DraftBot,
CommandPalette, ComposerReferences and ConversationSession all check it,
and AiDock was the one that did not.

Checks

Instrumented the handler and tested on macOS.

  • Japanese IME, before: Enter on a conversion candidate logs one keydown with
isComposing: true, keyCode: 229, and submits usequery ミニと何かいい
while leaving ミニと何かい in the input.
  • Japanese IME, after: the same Enter confirms the conversion and submits
nothing. A second Enter sends the question.
  • English input is unchanged — no composition is active, so Enter submits
    immediately.
  • pnpm test:tsc and pnpm lint:code pass.

This does not cover macOS Korean. A single Enter there produces two keydowns,
and the second is no longer composing, so it passes the guard and still
submits:

keydown Enter isComposing=true keyCode=229
compositionend
keydown Enter isComposing=false keyCode=13

Handling that needs a check right after compositionend, which would touch
the five files above as well, so I left it out of this PR. Can open a separate
issue if that is preferred.

📝 Walkthrough

The AI Dock input now checks IME composition when Enter is pressed. It does not prevent the default action or submit the question while composition is active.

The Enter-key handler checks event.nativeEvent.isComposing before the existing submission path. During composition, it does not prevent the default action or submit the question.

On a narrow IME input path, the key used to confirm a conversion can submit the unfinished question. This is a limited, recoverable interaction issue, but should be fixed before relying on the AI Dock for affected input methods.

Explanation

Issue [#1362] covers Japanese, Chinese, and Korean IME conversion. The change correctly skips submission when event.nativeEvent.isComposing is true. The PR description also confirms that macOS Korean input emits a second non-composing Enter keydown after compositionend, and that this keydown still submits the question. Therefore the Korean requirement remains unmet.

Thanks for documenting the Korean sequence too. The composition guard makes sense, but the second Enter event in that sequence still passes it, so this doesn't fully resolve #1362 yet.

Let's keep that issue open and use Related to #1362 instead of Fixes #1362 while the gap remains. We don't need to expand this PR into all five composers. A focused AiDock fix should cover composition completion without swallowing the next deliberate Enter, with Japanese, Chinese, Korean and ordinary input checked. Please keep the distinction between native IME testing and synthetic event tests in the results.

Thanks for the feedback!
I'll keep the changes scoped to AiDock, update the issue reference to Related to #1362, and address the follow-up Enter event after compositionend.
I'll also distinguish native IME testing from synthetic event tests in the results.
