On AO and KFO Client, you can highlight part of your text and use the color dropdown to paint it that color.
For AsyncAO, I think that principle should be expanded to where you don't need to know a secret markup language just to speed up/slow down/screenshake/screenflash/etc. in the text. This issue is related to #130 but perhaps even the right-click idea I had is not perfect, it really just needs to be clear when you're styling text a certain way in your dialogue as that is the strongest feature that makes AO incredibly appealing as you can arrange complex roleplay scenes on the fly with these tools.
