Add a 'Show bounding box' toggle (in the surface/isosurface popup menu) that draws a wireframe box around each displayed shape. This makes it easy to gauge the padding around a shape. The box is computed from the transformed bounds of the visible surface (or glyphs when the surface is hidden), so it tracks the shape in whatever alignment/display mode is active. The setting persists via Preferences.
