ServiceControl is built to require one exact .NET runtime patch version, and roll-forward is disabled, so it won't start if that exact version is not installed. This PR passes
--roll-forward Minortodotnetwhen starting the platform tools.Minoris the .NET default, so the tools run on the newest installed patch of the required version, or on a newer minor version of the same major if that one isn't installed. The command-line option takes priority overDOTNET_ROLL_FORWARDand therollForwardsetting inruntimeconfig.json. ServicePulse is started the same way; it already usesMinorby default, so its behavior doesn't change.Roll-forward only moves to newer versions. If the installed runtime is older than the one ServiceControl requires, it still won't start
Eg:
If ServiceControl requires .NET 10.0.11.
