Releases: NoCoderRandom/CyberDeck_Browser
CyberDeck Browser v0.1.0-rc6
Windows prerelease built from commit f63a11c. Restores installer downloads with versioned Inno Setup output, keeps the Reddit Terminal Mode and portable icon fixes from rc5, and includes both installer and portable Windows assets. Validated: release build, Inno Setup compile, installer silent install/start/uninstall smoke, installer runtime file check, portable runtime file check, and 10/10 CTest targets.
CyberDeck Browser v0.1.0-rc5
Windows portable prerelease built from commit 18b18cc. Fixes Reddit Terminal Mode so reddit.com receives CyberDeck terminal styling again, and restores the CyberdeckPortable.exe launcher icon by packaging the tracked CyberdeckPortable.ico asset. Validated with the portable launcher path against https://www.reddit.com/ and confirmed Terminal Mode CSS was applied; portable zip also contains CyberdeckPortable.exe and CyberdeckPortable.ico.
CyberDeck Browser v0.1.0-rc4
Windows portable prerelease built from commit 4898080. Includes the Windows compatibility correction for CEF startup, remote debugging hardening, CEF checksum validation, and safer Windows packaging staging. The portable zip was release-smoke-tested locally; installer staging passed, but no installer EXE is attached because Inno Setup/ISCC was not available on this machine.

- Tag:
v0.1.0-rc3 - Portable asset:
CyberDeckBrowser-0.1.0-rc3-portable-win64.zip - Installer asset: not produced in this environment unless Inno Setup is
available on the packaging machine. - CEF version: default Windows CEF archive

Summary
This Windows release candidate focuses on Deck Space usability, safer resource
cleanup, and portable packaging. Deck bookmarks now live inside editable Vaults,
the Vault Atlas has a larger circular layout with a centered selected Vault and
an outer-slot marker, and the Windows toolbar/readability pass makes the main
browser chrome easier to use.
Highlights
- Added Deck Vaults as first-class bookmark containers.
- Seeded fresh profiles with five default Vaults and 19 starter Nodes.
- Added Vault rename/delete workflows while keeping child Nodes safe.
- Added Vault Atlas rotation, larger orbit spacing, selected-slot marker, and
+/-keyboard zoom. - Increased top toolbar, address bar, tab, and Deck overlay text sizing.
- Added a real
CyberdeckPortable.exelauncher for portable builds. - Improved Windows OpenGL resource cleanup during Deck Space shutdown.
- Fixed bookmark storage handling around legacy empty files.
Verification
Build commands used:
git fetch --prune origin --tags
cmake --build build-windows-release --config Release
ctest --test-dir build-windows-release -C Release --output-on-failure
.\scripts\build_windows_release.ps1 -Version "0.1.0-rc3" -SkipInstaller -SkipMediaProbeAdditional portable smoke checks:
.\scripts\verify_windows_media_runtime.ps1 -AppDir "dist\release-staging\CyberDeckBrowser-0.1.0-rc3-portable-win64\App"Manual/automated smoke coverage included:
- Release build completed.
- CTest suite passed.
- CEF runtime staging verifier passed.
- Portable EXE launcher started the app with local
Data. - Deck Space opened.
- Vault defaults seeded as 5 Vaults and 19 Nodes.
+and-zoom key paths were exercised in Deck Space.
Known Limitations
- This is still a release-candidate build, not a hardened production browser.
- The Windows build is not code-signed.
- This environment did not run a clean Windows VM install/uninstall pass.
- Inno Setup was not available here, so the GitHub release may contain only the
portable zip unless an installer is built on another packaging machine. - The default official CEF distribution is not marked codec-enabled. Do not
claim Reddit/H.264/AAC playback support until a licensed codec-enabled CEF
build passes media QA. - Real favicon capture from CEF is not implemented yet; Deck Space uses local
placeholder favicon badges. - Deck Space thumbnails are not implemented.
- A full production security audit is still pending.
Upgrade Notes
- Normal builds keep user data under
%APPDATA%\CyberDeckBrowser. - Portable builds keep user data under the package-local
Datafolder when
started throughCyberdeckPortable.exeorCyberDeckBrowserPortable.cmd. - Existing flat Nodes remain supported. Nodes with
vaultIdrender inside their
Vault; loose Nodes are preserved if a Vault is deleted.
Third-Party Notices
- CEF/Chromium notices must be reviewed for the exact CEF distribution used.
LICENSE,THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md, andREADME.mdare included in the
portable package and installer staging directory.
CyberDeck Browser 0.1.0 RC2
CyberDeck Browser 0.1.0 RC2 updates the Windows CEF build after video playback testing on YouTube and Reddit-related flows.
Assets:
- CyberDeckBrowser-0.1.0-rc2-portable-win64.zip: portable Windows build. Extract it anywhere and run CyberDeckBrowserPortable.cmd so profile data stays inside the portable Data folder.
- CyberDeckBrowser-0.1.0-rc2-installer-win64.zip: normal Windows installer package. Extract it and run CyberDeckBrowserSetup-0.1.0.exe.
Highlights:
- Packages and verifies the full CEF runtime for installer and portable builds.
- Adds a one-command Windows release builder that can download/use CEF and create both release flavors.
- Fixes malformed YouTube ad-click popups that could trigger CEF_ERROR_-108 and poison Back history.
- Disables extension loading in CEF and keeps popup navigation inside CyberDeck tabs.
- Keeps portable profile data local to the portable Data folder.
- Skips Terminal Mode CSS on media-heavy sites such as YouTube, Reddit, Twitch, Vimeo, and youtu.be to avoid video lag.
- Adds Windows media/runtime verification and actual-site playback test scripts.

Notes:
- This is a Windows release candidate and is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show a SmartScreen warning.
- This release uses the official CEF build and does not claim full H.264/AAC proprietary codec support. Some Reddit/MP4 media may still require a codec-enabled CEF build with the proper licensing cleared.
- Local build folders, CEF SDK drops, test installs, logs, browser profiles, and cache data are not included in git or release assets.
