84-84: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winThe Cache mapping exposes public entries, and each
KVCacheEntryexposeskeyandvalue. The test can enumerate those fields and retain the same unique-storage assertion without usingcache._tensors(). The private traversal is unnecessary and conflicts with the testing guideline.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

386-387: 🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winClone cached projections to release fused QKV storage.
For an unbatched one-token input with
key_transform=None, the split key and value can remain contiguous views into the fused QKV projection. Matching-dtype.to()and.contiguous()can return those views, so the cache keeps the larger fused allocation alive.Suggested fix
- key=key.to(value.dtype).contiguous(), - value=value.contiguous(), + key=key.to(value.dtype).clone(memory_format=torch.contiguous_format), + value=value.clone(memory_format=torch.contiguous_format),Add regression coverage for an unbatched
(1, C)input with no key transform. Check storage ownership or capacity, not onlyCache.size(), becauseCache.size()counts logical tensor elements and does not detect retained backing storage.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Kumo Tabular S’s KV cache keeps an unused copy of the original keys in memory, which adds 50% to its ICL cache storage. The fix makes the cached values contiguous so that unused storage can be freed. We keep all heads and the same cached values.
In attention.py, keys and values are views into the same allocation:
Later, we normalize the keys:
That produces a new tensor. Reassigning key doesn’t overwrite the old buffer, and value still references it. So the cache ends up keeping normalized keys, the unused original keys, and values.
