Add AgiLink OmniGlove OpenXR hand tracking plugin - #1445
OmniGlove exposes a wrist-relative operator skeleton over USB. This change
adds a Linux C++ device plugin that combines it with an optical or calibrated
controller wrist pose and publishes standard OpenXR hands. Existing HandsSource and host retargeters can consume and record it without new
trackers, vendor hand schemas or robot-specific mappings.
The manifest declares /hand/left and /hand/right as hand_tracker. Each
hand has 26 OpenXR slots with the 21 SDK wrist/finger landmarks valid and five
unsupported optional landmarks invalid. The plugin converts joint axes and
quaternions, converts monotonic sample time into runtime XrTime, withholds
invalid frames, stops injecting after 200 ms of stale data, and recreates the
injector on valid recovery. Controller/Auto mode requires explicit per-hand
mount offsets. Transition logs include connection generation/source sequence.
The SDK installer pins automatically managed checkouts to commit a2f899cd45c51ae01c9bbca9b893e4afba41c0d7. --sdk-ref / OMNIGLOVE_SDK_REF
provides an explicit override; sibling and explicitly supplied local SDK roots
remain unchanged. Dirty managed checkouts are rejected before fetching or
switching commits. The installer verifies file checksums, runs API/ABI and
conversion probes, and installs the required runtimes and license notices.
Direct CMake builds also discover the SDK commit. The source includes device
documentation, a validation record, a guarded formal CTS recorder and a
packaging wrapper that uses the official CTS viewer's bundle builder. The device listing links
to the AgiLink website, https://www.agilink-ai.com, with a separate SDK download link.
Validation:
Linux x86_64 build and installation passed with SDK 1.0.0, commit a2f899cd45c51ae01c9bbca9b893e4afba41c0d7, matching header/runtime ABI 6.0.0.
Conversion and API compatibility CTest targets passed; clang-format 14,
strict Sphinx docs and full pre-commit (CI's copyright-year skip) passed.
Managed SDK selection: 15 isolated cases passed using real Git and SDK
checksums with mocked build commands (fresh/repeated installs, commit/tag/branch
overrides, shallow checkout migration, dirty checkout rejection and local-root
preservation). A fresh download of the pinned commit from GitHub also passed
all SDK checksums.
Missing controller/Auto calibration rejected before USB/OpenXR initialization;
recorder guards, exported mount offsets and provenance notes verified.
Existing dual-glove SDK hardware evidence: five minutes at ~125 Hz per hand,
zero sequence gaps/source errors/malformed frames/callback drops; SDK recovery
without process restart after unplug/reconnect.
Formal controller-wrist take omniglove_2026-11-06_173720: PASS, 39 pass,
zero failures, one expected optional-joint check with insufficient data.
Capture and checker commit 445cd3e1fc59aa327e120c2fb2514ea042189c57, both
clean; the commit was pushed before recording. PICO 4 Ultra / PICO 4 controllers.
Wrist calibration: a 7.727777° right mount rotation correction, with unchanged
left offsets/right translation. Geometric fit used held-out windows/blocks and
an independent take; original recordings, finger geometry and thresholds were
preserved. The formal take uses the applied correction: right table tilt
5.078° / 5.392°, roll excursion right/left 10.784 / 14.634 mm.
Official viewer samples across all 11 action windows show the expected poses;
three samples per roll were reviewed, and full-record continuity/axes checks
pass. The operator accepted on-site physical alignment; no independent optical
wrist measurement is claimed.
OpenXR hot-unplug/recovery take omniglove_2026-11-06_150705 was recorded
at pushed commit 97c62090a, repo_dirty=false. Left/right each recovered
without process restart while the other hand kept all 21 joints valid and
changing throughout the 22.53 s / 25.50 s inactive intervals. Those intervals
include the operator waiting before reconnecting, not reinsertion latency.
An extra 0.18 s right-hand inactive/recovery event has an unknown physical
cause. Exact 200 ms cutoff and reinsertion latency were not measured.
aarch64 has build support; no aarch64 hardware test is claimed.

Walkthrough
This change adds an optional AgiLink OmniGlove plugin. The plugin checks SDK ABI compatibility, converts SDK hand samples into OpenXR joints, and injects fresh frames using hand-tracking, controller, or automatic wrist sources. The change also adds SDK installation and USB setup scripts, CTS recording and packaging tools, conversion tests, validation records, and setup documentation.

NVIDIA/IsaacCapture#1382 — The plugin stores the glove sample timestamp with each hand frame, which relates to the issue’s concern about using query time instead of sample time.

NVIDIA/IsaacCapture#1153 — The OmniGlove plugin publishes OpenXR hand joints and wrist poses, which the RealHand change consumes.
Merge Risk: Low · previous review c5c89
The OmniGlove installer fetches the latest third-party SDK without pinning it. Anyone running the install script gets whatever the upstream repository currently holds. The plugin is opt-in and off by default, so owners should decide whether to pin a commit, but this does not need to block the merge.
