What changed and why (one paragraph):
Adds bug-logs/pending-github-issues/watch-theme-rebuild-drops-dist-pages.md, a draft issue for mendixlabs/mxcli. It uses the same Repo: / Source: / Status: header and strip line as the other drafts, with status DRAFT — NOT FILED. The draft covers what #284 found about mxcli run --local --watch:

  • The bug: a theme-only SCSS rebuild deletes deployment/web/dist/pages/ and still reports a successful reload. Every page then 404s on dist/pages/<Page>.js, and a full restart restores all 135 bundles.
  • Other stale changes: the change classes that watch keeps serving stale.
  • Timings: the table from the issue. Reload: 35 builds, median 3.8 s, max 8.3 s. Restart: 44 builds, median 19.2 s, max 55.2 s, 928 s total.
  • Upstream questions: why a restart-class build takes about 5× as long as a reload, and whether the runtime keeps serving the old compiled microflow by name after a drop and recreate.

Every number comes from the issue body and its 2026-10-14 comment. Nothing was re-measured and no client names appear. Nothing was filed upstream. Before filing, the draft's own Status line asks for a retest on a neutral app and a duplicate search in mendixlabs/mxcli. Neither has been done.

The toolkit side of #284 is already on master:

  • Change classes: project-bin/exec.sh:78-165 tags every run ui-only or logic (the change-class header and the mxtk_change_class function).
  • Restart verdicts: project-bin/exec.sh:206-321 holds the watch-compat classifier, mxtk_watch_compat and --watch-compat, sorted into restart, watch-safe and unknown classes. After every applied script, project-bin/exec.sh:1610-1654 checks theme SCSS/JS edited since the app booted and prints → Watch: restart needed along with the restart command.
  • project-bin/app-restart.sh:1-25: restarts only this project's recorded run --local process and waits until a page bundle is served again.
  • skills/ui-loop.md:192-231: the "What watch picks up — and what it does not" table, the list of stale-runtime symptoms, and the pointer to app-restart.sh.

Only the upstream questions and the dist/pages bug are still open. I recommend closing #284 once this lands. The sign-out cost is tracked separately in #337 and PR #340.

Field evidence: this PR adds no new measurement. The draft restates the 2026-10-12 three-app UX run and its 2026-10-14 recurrence, as recorded in #284 (mxcli v0.26.0, Mendix 11.15.0).

Review fix (second commit): the draft no longer says "nothing in the watch output said so", which #284 does not state. It now uses the issue's own wording: the implementer saw the old behaviour until the app was restarted.

  • No client data anywhere in the diff (leak guard clean, plus a whole-word grep of the added lines for the denylist terms: 0 hits)
  • Size cap: 1 file, 73 lines (plus the CHANGELOG line)
  • Test tier reached: T0. No fixture targets the new file. tests/wave2/test-exec-lock-watch.sh reads other specific drafts in this folder, not this one. Also run: render-routing --check (in sync; baseline 75,028 words before and after, budget 80,000), check-scripts, check-portability, check-no-private-citations, check-pr-discipline origin/master. All clean.
  • For a new/changed instrument: n/a
  • For a new skill: n/a
  • CHANGELOG.md line appended in this PR, crediting the source
  • New bug entries: n/a (no ledger entry)
