Part of #82

What

  • Item 4: budget_usd and max_commitment_usd in mcpb/manifest.json had min: 1 while the server accepts any positive amount (readBudget/readUSDCap). Picked the server's rule, so the manifest now allows 0.01. Test TestManifestUSDCapMinimumMatchesServer fails against the old manifest (min 1 > 0.01) and passes now.
  • Item 3: tests that a panic inside PurchaseCommitment and a cancel during the provider call keep the reservation counted, and that a pre-canceled context reserves nothing. These pin existing behavior, so they pass without a code change; mutation probes (release on panic, release on context.Canceled) each make the matching test fail.
  • Item 1 is already in main (purchaseSpent checks err first).

Not done: item 2 (integer-cents ledger)

It changes money semantics (rounding mode of each reservation and of the limit comparison at exact boundaries) and the persisted spent_usd/usd float fields in the CUDLY_MCP_BUDGET_STATE file (budgetStateVersion 1). That needs an owner decision on rounding and on a state-format migration, so it is left open on #82.

Verification

build, vet, go test -timeout 300s -count=1 ./..., golangci-lint (v2.10.1, repo config): all clean.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Claude Desktop settings now support budget_usd and max_commitment_usd values as low as $0.
  • Bug Fixes

    • Budget reservations remain counted when provider purchases panic or are cancelled during processing.
    • Cancellations before a purchase still invoke the provider while returning a cancellation error.
  • Tests

    • Added coverage for budget settlement behavior, cancellation scenarios, provider panics, and minimum USD limits.

…le on panic/cancel

The manifest declared min 1 for budget_usd and max_commitment_usd while the
server accepts any positive amount; the manifest now allows 0.01. Add tests
that a panic or a canceled context inside PurchaseCommitment keeps the
reservation counted, and that a pre-canceled context reserves nothing.

The integer-cents ledger from mcp#82 item 2 is not part of this change: it
alters rounding of stored USD amounts and the state file format.

📝 Walkthrough

The manifest now accepts budget_usd and max_commitment_usd values down to 0. Tests cover reservation handling after provider panics and context cancellation.

…l test cancel

The repo's manifest bounds rule is an inclusive min of 0 for float caps, so
budget_usd and max_commitment_usd use 0 (the server still rejects 0). Both
caps join TestManifestMinMatchesServerCapBounds and the weaker duplicate test
is removed. The pre-provider cancel test now cancels the context after the
reservation, so a mutant that releases on cancel fails it.

Merge gate verdict (claude-cc-libs)

Every gate holds at head 4ca980a:

  • Two independent reviews approve the reviewed head 4ca980a. The branch was then updated from main, and the PR diff is byte-identical to the reviewed diff (compared mechanically).
  • CI is green on 4ca980a, which is the reviewed change on top of current main.
  • 0 unresolved threads; MERGEABLE/CLEAN.

CodeRabbit is waived as a merge gate under the 2026-10-19 decision. Squash-merging.
