Review comments at @.gitleaks.toml:
- Line 13: Anchor each of the three allowlist regexes in the gitleaks
configuration with start and end boundaries so only the complete intended
fixture value matches; preserve the literal values and add coverage for a token
with an extra suffix to ensure it is not allowlisted.

Run the gitleaks CLI (not gitleaks-action, which needs an org licence) over the checkout in the security-scan job. The v8.30.1 release tarball is pinned by version and sha256, and .gitleaks.toml extends the default rules with three file-and-literal-scoped allowlists for existing test fixtures. Any finding fails the job. Closes #101 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
In gitleaks 8.30.1 an allowlist with paths and condition = "AND" skips the whole file, so a real token planted next to a fixture went undetected. Match only the exact fixture literals, and add scripts/test-gitleaks-config.sh (run in CI after the scan) which plants a PAT-shaped string beside each fixture and requires the scan to fail. Refs #101 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Anchor each allowlist regex with ^...$ so only the exact fixture secret is suppressed, not a longer token containing it. The self-test now reads the literals from the config, fails if the config uses paths, condition, stopwords, commits, targetRules or regexTarget (and proves an injected key is detected), and checks that a fixture plus a suffix is caught. Closes #101
Adds a
Secret scan (gitleaks)step to thesecurity-scanjob inci.yml.gitleaks-action, which needs an org licence). The v8.30.1 linux_x64 tarball is pinned by version and sha256 (from the release's checksums file) and verified withsha256sum -cbefore extraction, matching how the repo pins trivy and git-secrets.gitleaks dir . --config .gitleaks.toml --exit-code 1; any finding fails the job, andci-successalready needssecurity-scan..gitleaks.tomlextends the default rules. The tree has three existing false positives (the pinned git-secrets commit SHA inpre-commit.ymland two test token fixtures). Each allowlist entry matches only its exact literal. An earlier revision also setpathswithcondition = "AND", which in 8.30.1 skips the whole file and hid a planted token; that is fixed and documented in the config.scripts/test-gitleaks-config.sh(also run in CI right after the scan) plants a PAT-shaped string beside each allowlisted fixture and requires the scan to fail, and checks that the repository tree is clean. Mutation probe: restoring thepaths+ANDconfig fails 3 of its 7 checks.actionlint passes on
ci.yml. History scanning is out of scope (7 findings in history would need a baseline).🤖 Generated with Claude Code
