Summary

0.13.0 introduces the Console: a web interface for each machine’s Commands, sharing observations with the CLI, with live logs, sign-in and Stop/Requeue controls (#842).

• thirdshift console serves the machine’s Inbox on localhost, with embedded assets, machine and other-Console links, and automatic re-execution when the binary is replaced; --no-sign-in is available (Serve the localhost Console Inbox with Focus #850, Spec: the Console, a web page for each machine's Commands #842).
• Console account and Theme commands add account controls, password management, sign-out, Console log access, saved look settings and custom Theme import/export (Add Console accounts and sign-in #860, Add Console Themes, saved look settings and activity motion #870, Add custom Console Themes and local fonts #895).
• thirdshift console install prints an owner-run Linux installation script for a service and Caddy or Apache; without either proxy, it prints SSH tunnel instructions (Add Console service and proxy installation scripts #872).
• CLI selectors and JSON: logs --command <id> selects a Command’s logs; logs --file <id> [--follow] reads an exact log. show and logs accept exact retained paths, and stop --json reports completion, retained work and labels (Add Console log inventory and live conversation readers #853, Add History, Security, the peek and Console keyboard navigation #856, Stop live Commands from the Console #869).
• Console pages and readers: History adds outcome/repository filters; Security shows findings and sessions; keyboard navigation and peeks connect rows to logs. Lanes and Stages show stage timing and repository Usual ranges; Waterfall aligns nested Runs, stages and tool calls, explicitly distinguishing recorded intervals from execution time (Add History, Security, the peek and Console keyboard navigation #856, Add Console Lanes and Stages pages #861, Add the Console Waterfall page #863).
• Live updates: the Inbox preserves selection and folds, falls back to five-second polling, and signals Needs you in the tab title and favicon. Conversation readers append Claude/Codex events while preserving tool folds and follow choice, with polling recovery when streaming fails. Codex edit patches remain unavailable from retained events (Keep the Console Inbox live #855, Add Console log inventory and live conversation readers #853, Spec: the Console, a web page for each machine's Commands #842).
• Accounts and actions: allowlisted email/password sign-in uses sliding 30-day sessions. Email codes create or reset passwords when Resend is configured. Signed-in accounts can confirm Stop or Requeue from Command details, including Session readers (Add Console accounts and sign-in #860, Set Console passwords by email code #868, Stop live Commands from the Console #869).
• Appearance: six built-in Themes support auto/light/dark, saved section visibility and pausable activity motion. Custom Themes can be edited as JSON and use local fonts (Add Console Themes, saved look settings and activity motion #870, Add custom Console Themes and local fonts #895).
• CLI observations: status groups the machine’s Inbox; --all adds History. status and show report Silent/Slow health, escalation and repository-specific Usual ranges. CI watch and Self-merge repeat waiting lines, defaulting to five minutes, with a half-silence fallback for unsafe intervals (Show the machine’s Inbox in thirdshift status #848, Show Silent and Slow Runs with repository Usual ranges #844, Keep CI watch and Self-merge waiting lines active #841).
• Setup and notifications: Setup offers Console configuration and installation instructions, preserves existing answers/comments and warns about unsafe waiting intervals. Run notification bodies now include everything their subjects say (Ask about the Console during Setup #874, Tell in a Run notification's body everything its subject does #890).
