Summary

  • add discoverable high-level domains for allocations, assembly, remote execution, debugger, hotkeys, timers, speed, hashing, and DBVM behind explicit runtime capabilities
  • add generated Lua modules and typed Lua operations with descriptors, collision preflight, rollback, scalar mappers, and AOT-friendly dependency injection
  • expand fluent memory access with bounded bytes and strings, finite pointer chains, homogeneous batches, and lower-allocation dispatch paths
  • add copied process snapshots, bounded callback streams, plugin diagnostics, atomic deployment preparation, templates, benchmarks, and AOT probes
  • adapt the SDK Sonar workflow to the Client with opt-in execution and targeted rule exceptions, while removing coverage collection, reporting, and package dependencies from the Client pipeline

Validation

  • Release solution build: 0 warnings, 0 errors
  • Test suites: 509 passed, 0 failed, 0 skipped
  • Package consumption smoke test: passed
  • Plugin template smoke test: passed
  • Native AOT publication probe: passed
  • GitHub Actions workflows: actionlint passed
  • git diff --check: clean

Dependency and availability

Low-level SDK foundations are proposed in CheatEngineNet/CheatEngine.SDK#19.

The public contracts are stable, but advanced capabilities remain Unknown or Unavailable until their Cheat Engine 7.7 x64 live gates succeed. This continues to describe a managed .NET 10 plugin analyzed for AOT compatibility, not a Native AOT DLL loaded directly by Cheat Engine.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added client services for memory batching, allocations, assembly, debugging, hotkeys, timers, hashing, speed control, DBVM, remote execution, and process management.
    • Added fluent APIs for bounded byte/string operations, UTF-8/UTF-16 handling, pointer chains, and primitive batch reads/writes.
    • Added Lua module and typed-operation source generation with dependency-injection registration.
    • Added managed plugin validation and opt-in deployment support.
  • Documentation
    • Added live-capability release-gate guidance and expanded hosting and memory-operation documentation.
  • Chores
    • Removed CI coverage collection and Sonar coverage artifact handling.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

This change expands the Client API with advanced domains, bounded memory operations, Lua source generation, hosting validation, deployment checks, unavailable capability implementations, tests, benchmarks, and live-capability documentation. CI coverage collection and related package dependencies are removed.

Changes

Client platform expansion

Layer / File(s) Summary
CI, package validation, and capability gates
.github/workflows/*, eng/*, docs/live-capability-gates.md, README.md
CI no longer collects coverage. Sonar uses stricter conditions and issue filters. Package smoke tests cover plugin, bootstrap, targeting, and deployment cases. Live-capability gate requirements are documented.
Public Client contracts
libs/CheatEngine.Client.Abstractions/*
New contracts cover advanced client domains, event streams, Lua metadata, process operations, bounded memory operations, and validated value types.
Core services and dispatch
libs/CheatEngine.Client.Core/*
The client exposes the new services. Stateful dispatch, bounded event streams, unavailable implementations, Lua reservations, primitive codecs, process enumeration, and capability reporting are added.
Dependency injection and fluent memory
libs/CheatEngine.Client.Extensions.DependencyInjection/*, libs/CheatEngine.Client.Fluent/Memory/*
Dependency injection registers the new services and Lua lifecycle. Fluent memory APIs add byte and string operations, finite pointer chains, and bounded primitive batches.
Hosting validation and Lua generation
libs/CheatEngine.Client.Hosting/*, source-generators/*, templates/*
Hosting validates plugin metadata and build settings, packages the Lua analyzer, and supports managed deployment. Templates use generated Lua modules and the expanded hosting profile.
AOT probes and benchmarks
tests/CheatEngine.Client.AotProbe/*, tests/CheatEngine.Client.Benchmarks/*
AOT probes cover generated Lua and Client contracts. Benchmarks measure dependency injection, fluent builders, and static Lua result mapping.
Contract and integration tests
tests/CheatEngine.Client.*Tests/*
Tests cover contracts, composition, dispatch, event streams, unavailable capabilities, Lua behavior, process enumeration, memory operations, source generation, allocation gates, and public signature boundaries.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Update the capability-status statement.

The README says these domains have no placeholder public API. This PR adds public contracts for allocations, assembly, remote execution, debugging, hotkeys, timers, speed, hashing, and DBVM.

State that these APIs exist but remain Unknown or Unavailable until their live gates pass. The PR objectives establish this new contract.

🔵 Needs a closer look

The change spans ~100 files including a large new public API surface, a new Roslyn source generator, and CI/Sonar workflow changes, which warrants final human review.

What changed in this PR

This PR is a large expansion of the CheatEngine.Client public surface. It introduces nine new high-level capability domains (allocations, assembly, remote execution, debugger, hotkeys, timers, speed, hashing, DBVM), each fronted by an abstraction contract and a Core client that reports Unavailable/Unknown until the corresponding Cheat Engine 7.7 x64 live gate succeeds. It also adds a Roslyn source generator for typed Lua modules/operations with DI registration, expands the fluent memory API (bounded bytes/strings, finite pointer chains, homogeneous primitive batches, lower-allocation dispatch), and adds process snapshots, bounded callback streams, plugin diagnostics, benchmarks, AOT probes, and templates. Finally, it adapts CI/Sonar to the Client by removing coverage collection/reporting and gating Sonar behind an opt-in variable.

Changes:

  • Add discoverable high-level domains behind explicit runtime capabilities, each with validated request contracts and Unavailable/Unknown Core clients wired through DI.
  • Add a Lua source generator (module descriptors, typed operations, scalar mappers, AOT-friendly DI) plus fluent memory additions and allocation-gate/generator tests.
  • Remove CI coverage collection/artifacts and make Sonar opt-in with targeted rule exceptions.
