Note
9base status: Educational · Lifecycle: archived.
This repository is retained as historical material and is not actively maintained by 9base. The provenance and scope below distinguish local work from inherited projects and dependencies.
This small October–November 2020 learning archive explores displaying an image/cat on Windows and Linux. The original name and scope are preserved.
| Version | Source and stack |
|---|---|
| Windows | Visual Studio C++ project using GDI+; solution |
| Linux | C/GTK3 implementation added later; source and Makefile use GCC and pkg-config for gtk+-3.0 |
The original root README reports trouble animating GIFs in the Windows
experiment. That is a historical author observation, not a newly reproduced
test result or an established limitation of the Linux version. The Linux
README retains gtk3_template wording; any inherited template
credit and the existing license files are preserved. The two implementations
are not a uniform cross-platform C++ application. No current build or runtime
verification was performed, and this remains a small educational experiment.
This explanation was reconstructed on 8 October 2026 from the public repository tree, metadata and commit history. It is new documentation of historical material, not evidence that this explanation existed during the original development period. Original source authorship, technical history and license files have not been rewritten.
Just a cat.
This is a gdiplus api usage example for windows. But I have some troubles with it.
I can open all types of pictures but in gif, I cannot play it.
If anyone have Idea, I'm waiting for advices.
