Innerscript is a youth mental health community platform that transforms brain science research into practical tools, workshops, and peer support resources that young people can actually use.
The platform provides a safe space where people can share experiences, access evidence-based mental health resources, and connect through supportive conversations.
Mental health support should be accessible, practical, and based on science.
Innerscript works to bridge the gap between neuroscience research and everyday life by creating:
- Brain science education
- Evidence-based mental health toolkits
- Peer support communities
- School workshops and awareness programs
- Google OAuth login
- Email-based authentication
- Email verification
- Secure Django sessions
- Privacy-focused user data handling
A supportive space where users can:
- Share personal experiences
- Write discussions and posts
- Reply to community members
- Like and engage with content
- Attach images to posts (UUID filenames, 5 MB cap, extension whitelist)
- Keep a profile with bio, avatar, and role
- Build meaningful conversations
Posts carry a Community Score. The score is a heuristic on the likes to comments ratio of a post, not sentiment analysis. It powers the default feed order.
The feed supports three sort modes via ?sort=:
scoreranks by Community Scorerecentshows newest firstdiscussedsurfaces the most commented threads
Posts come in three kinds (blog, discussion, resource) and can be filed under categories. The goal is to surface supportive, well discussed conversations instead of raw popularity.
Users can access:
- Anxiety coping strategies
- Journaling techniques
- Breathing exercises
- Stress management tools
- Mental health education resources
Innerscript follows a minimal data collection approach.
We collect only:
- Name/username
- Email address
We do not store:
- Google profile photos
- Google OAuth tokens
- Location data
- Advertising trackers
- Third-party analytics data
Users can:
- View their data
- Delete their account permanently
- Manage their profile information
Innerscript is built around empathy and respect.
This platform provides peer support and educational resources but is not a replacement for professional mental health care.
If someone is experiencing a crisis, they should contact:
- A local emergency service
- A trusted adult
- A qualified mental health professional
Current platform goals:
- 6000+ people reached
- Mental health resources shared
- Youth leadership and awareness programs
Innerscript follows a privacy-first approach.

This project is developed for Innerscript and its mission of improving youth mental health accessibility.
