Hello, I would like to suggest a feature for FilterTube, especially for the Android version, with remote admin management. This is for parental control. I would like to know if it is possible to do this locally.
In fact, I would like to filter channels of the Brainrot type and similar content.
Your app is really interesting. I have been looking for something like this for ages, even for my own healthier personal feed. This application could also be very useful in the psychiatric and pediatric fields.

Yes, this is possible, and it fits the direction of FilterTube.

The safest version is a managed child profile model: a parent
device can be paired/trusted once using our existing Nanah
P2P pairing flow, and then the child device can pull the latest
parent-approved rules when the app or child profile opens.

Pure P2P works when both devices are reachable. For more
reliable “parent updated it, child gets it later” behavior, we
may need an encrypted pending-update mailbox where the
server stores only unreadable ciphertext and revision
metadata. The server would not be able to read the rules.

The goal is: parent controls the child rules, the child device
keeps the last known policy active, and newer signed parent
policies apply automatically when available. This is very
close to what I have envisioned for FilterTube.

This is also why trusted/verified device state already exists
in Nanah sync. The long-term goal is to give parents strong
control without turning FilterTube into a normal cloud-account
surveillance product.

And yes, I agree this can be useful for many people. I started
building FilterTube from the same point of view: what I would
want as a parent to protect my kids from unwanted content,
while still keeping the experience private and user-controlled.

The current MVP is still closer to a browser-based YouTube
experience, but the next mobile direction is a much more
native controlled browsing experience.

I was talking about how this could be useful in pediatrics. The internet is a wonderful tool, but there are often interesting and positive uses as well as very harmful ones.I have an intelligent autistic brother and I want to show him the good sides of the internet. However, he is very sensitive to other content that could ruin the learning we have worked so hard to build.FilterTube could really be very interesting for this.Tell me when the remote management feature will be implemented.

For FilterTube, I would like a remote management option using peer-to-peer on the local network (or simply local network management). This would allow me to block specific videos, keywords, and channels, exactly like the app already does.This feature should be secured with a password so that the end user cannot change anything.It would also be very useful to have some kind of feedback, logs, or history of actions. Whatever the name, it would be really practical.

Thank you for clarifying. This is exactly the kind of use
case I want FilterTube to support.

I have already started the extension-side work for this.
The current work is focused on the authority model first:
profiles, PIN/admin authority, Nanah P2P trusted devices,
managed child/profile policy, and future time limits. This
has to be done carefully.

Your request is now part of the planned scope:

• local-network / P2P management where possible
• remote blocking of videos, keywords, and channels
• parent/caregiver password or PIN protection
• protected profile keeps the last valid policy while offline
• action history/logs so the parent/caregiver can see what changed

I believe this will be available by the end of this month
at least in the extension.

Moreover the PIN protection is already there. There are two ways
for PIN one pin is set by the Parent for a child profile and other
pin is kids own profile so that for example siblings do not fight
each other.

Only a parent profile and edit the kids profile rules and kids
profiles only accept new settings. That's is already there.
