Weird unrenderable text when creating a new note

Whenever I create a new note I get the following weird text with it. I can edit and remove it just fine, and go on with my day but strange. Maybe a date template or something?

The actual text is

This has been a long standing issue, due to not being able to reproduce it myself any longer it's been hard to track down.

It's most likely caused by an improperly initialized buffer somewhere in the new note code.
