Plugin not working in SQL Developer 17.4

"Show Password" doesn't show in File menu. I have tried removing system_cache folder.

Working on my case SQLdev 17.4

I had the same issue, did the install steps but the extension wasn't getting added in the sqldeveloper/extensions folder (realized it was because I needed "admin" access to add to this folder). Try running SQLdev "as an administrator" then follow the install steps. Worked fine for me then.

on Mac in 18.4 it does not work. But if I run as a root, i.e.
sudo sqldeveloper.sh
and add extension again - menu shows up correctly if I run it as a root.

When I created manually folder in local settings .sqldeveloper:
extensions/com.tomecode.showme.password.sqldeveloper.1.0.0
and removed system_cache

menu came up under my user
