Project Detection issues

I've noticed some bugs in the project detection. Each time I do a reindex, it doesn't seem to find the projects by a method that I am choosing.

For example

1. Choosing by project Metadata:

I have a note with frontmatter projectName: "myproject"

It is not detected. Instead I see a bunch of projects from "project config" - even though it is not enabled

2. When I turn off "Enable config file project detection"

It still seems to think I have a project config file somewhere:

Also, I can't seem to turn off "Search recursively".

3. if i put all my projectsin a directory and do the mapping

It does not detect any projects.

I assumed this would get all the notes in the directory as projects - so im not sure what to put for projectName ... I must be misunderstanding this feature?

Final Question: all of my projects are in notes with a noteType: "project" in the frontmatter. Will such an option be offered in the future?

Yeah not sure why this is closed when the actual changes made aren't very clear.
I'm also running into this issue of getting projects detected based on metadata.

What was changed in recent updates? The settings still look the same and I can't find any new documentation on these features.

Like what even is a "Project configuration file", how is it meant to be set up?

There is now an option for project detection using linked folders but nothing in documentation about how to use it. I'm having a lot of issues with Project Detection. I'm also seeing the project duplicated inline on each task just by clicking on it.

Can confirm zero project detection works. The only project detection I can get is with tags on Tasks. None of the following works:

project: true
project: "some-name"
tags: - #project/some-name
tags: - project/some-name
---

The only method to detect projects that actually works is in the task:

- [ ] my task #project/some-name

I've tried re-indexing and restarting after each change.

I finally gave up on this plugin despite it having tremendous potential and really nice feature set. Too buggy, documentation not up to date, and no responses from Dev.
