At https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/microcontrollers/c_sdk.html#sdk-setup it just says "However, if you are intending to develop for Pico on a Raspberry Pi, then you can set up the C/C++ toolchain quickly by running our setup script from the command line."
However it doesn't make clear how to run the setup script, and this is confusing some users. See raspberrypi/pico-setup#63 for more details.
(Alternatively, it might make sense to link to https://github.com/raspberrypi/pico-setup instead of linking directly to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/raspberrypi/pico-setup/master/pico_setup.sh ? 🤷 )
