Repository navigation
Publishing third party open source solutions #373

The CONTRIBUTING.md makes a call to software developers to add publiccode.yml file and promote to do it for other projects. Once the publiccode.yml is added to open source repositories not associated and developed by public administrations, are they going to be crawled by the existing catalogs if the projects are hosted in one of the forges that these catalogs crawl? If they are not going to be automatically listed, what's the process to add them to the catalogues? |

Hey @ifraixedes. It's up to each catalog. The standard doesn't say anything about how files get discovered, so every catalog is free to do whatever makes sense for its own use case. In theory nothing stops you from building a catalog that crawls every publiccode.yml on the Internet. What usually happens is that catalogs have some sort of onboarding to decide what to crawl. Maybe you register a trusted organization and they pick up all of its repos, or maybe they add repos one at a time after a quick review. |
